I've read that idiot's column three times now and I still can't understand the train of thought. Dallas was probably quite hateful and racist in 1963, but that has nothing to do with the fact some far left nutjob killed Kennedy.

There were a number of these narcissistic psychopaths that were like Oswald and had his leanings in the 60s and 70s, but there were more of them in Europe. There was Bill Ayers and his group domestically (now they get professor jobs at universities which totally boggles my mind), but you had the Red Army Faction in Germany. These types seemed to congregate into these groups.

What's also interesting is the confluence of the far left wackjobs with the islamic nutjobs. For instance, you have this guy : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carlos_the_Jackal

The common undercurrent of anti-semitism at least in Europe here is interesting to me. Some of those involved with Ayers' group were jewish themselves. I spent some time on Berkeley's campus a decade ago and I came across some student Maoist newspaper. The newspaper itself was beyond stupid, but the paper just railed on "Zionists" who were apparently controlling the world through some capitalistic cabal. I fully realize that people of this mindset only represent a small fraction of the student body/faculty on some of these campuses, but I'm shocked at the tolerance of the anti-semitism given the overwhelming number of jews that are students and faculties at elite universities.

Part of it is based on academic grounds. Among major conferences, the Pac-10 is the best academically, largely because of Stanford, Cal and UCLA. “Colorado is on a par with Oregon,” he said. “Utah isn’t even in the picture.”

After reading this article I have to wonder what Northern California's role was in the assassination attempts of President Ford...

When U.S. Attorney Dwayne Keyes recommended severe punishment because she was "full of hate and violence," Fromme threw an apple at him, hitting him in the face and knocking off his glasses.

Moore has stated that she regrets the assassination attempt, saying she was "blinded by her radical political views".
Maybe the political environments of these Northern Californian cities might have been conducive to fostering the far-left hate these two women had toward Ford. Just like Dallas fostered the hate toward a strongly anti-communist president. It makes perfect sense to me.

After reading that well-sourced, academic journal quality work, I'm hoping the author also researches and reports on Los Angeles being a City of Hate in 1968 and how the city, the organic sentient being it is, steered Sirhan Sirhan to assassinate RFK.

I wonder if whichever City of Far Right Racist Hate Bill Ayers was living in in 1973, probably New York City, caused him to dedicate his book from that year to Sirhan Sirhan.

It's amazing how these Cities of Racist Hate inspire these far left nutjobs to kill champions of civil rights.

In Texas saying "Merry Christmas" is protected by the law...

Merry Christmas, bah humbug? Not in Texas. Same goes for you, Mr. Grinch.

Just in time for the holidays, Texas is making sure everyone remembers that wishing someone "Merry Christmas" is now protected by law in its public schools -- and conservatives are hoping similar measures will gain momentum across America.

Garnering national attention when it was approved by the state Legislature this summer, the bipartisan law removes legal risks from exchanging holiday greetings in classrooms. It also protects symbols such as Christmas trees, menorahs or nativity scenes, as long as more than one religion is represented and a secular symbol such as a snowman is displayed.

Texas library offers glimpse of bookless future

Texas has seen the future of the public library, and it looks a lot like an Apple Store: Rows of glossy iMacs beckon. iPads mounted on a tangerine-colored bar invite readers. And hundreds of other tablets stand ready for checkout to anyone with a borrowing card.

Even the librarians imitate Apple's dress code, wearing matching shirts and that standard-bearer of geek-chic, the hoodie. But this $2.3 million library might be most notable for what it does not have — any actual books.

That makes Bexar County's BibiloTech the nation's only bookless public library, a distinction that has attracted scores of digital bookworms, plus emissaries from as far away as Hong Kong who want to learn about the idea and possibly take it home.

"I told our people that you need to take a look at this. This is the future," said Mary Graham, vice president of South Carolina's Charleston Metro Chamber of Commerce. "If you're going to be building new library facilities, this is what you need to be doing."

All-digital libraries have been on college campuses for years. But the county, which runs no other libraries, made history when it decided to open BiblioTech. It is the first bookless public library system in the country, according to information gathered by the American Library Association.

Similar proposals in other communities have been met with doubts. In California, the city of Newport Beach floated the concept of a bookless branch in 2011 until a backlash put stacks back in the plan. Nearly a decade earlier in Arizona, the Tucson-Pima library system opened an all-digital branch, but residents who said they wanted books ultimately got their way.
