As the CIA turns...
So the FBI agent that originally investigated the harrasing emails that lead to the Petraeus affair isn't so clean himself.
http://online.wsj.com/article/SB1000...189757452.htmlThe FBI agent who started the case was a friend of Jill Kelley, the Tampa woman who received harassing, anonymous emails that led to the probe, according to officials. Ms. Kelley, a volunteer who organizes social events for military personnel in the Tampa area, complained in May about the emails to a friend who is an FBI agent. That agent referred it to a cyber crimes unit, which opened an investigation.
However, supervisors soon became concerned that the initial agent might have grown obsessed with the matter, and prohibited him from any role in the investigation, according to the officials.
The FBI officials found that he had sent shirtless pictures of himself to Ms. Kelley, according to the people familiar with the probe.
Sounds like he was the one who leaked the investigation.
More on the harassing emails.
http://www.thedailybeast.com/article...-revealed.htmlThe emails that Jill Kelley showed an FBI friend near the start of last summer were not jealous lover warnings like “stay away from my man,” a knowledgeable source tells The Daily Beast. The messages were instead what the source terms “kind of cat-fight stuff.”
“More like, ‘Who do you think you are? … You parade around the base … You need to take it down a notch,’” according to the source, who was until recently at the highest levels of the intelligence community and prefers not to be identified by name
Tampa woman is also lawyering up.

Mickey mouse post. You sound like an inexperienced BYU person.Originally posted by CardiacCoug View PostPut yourself in a situation where you are spending hundreds of hours alone with an attractive younger woman while apart from spouses and what else could possibly happen? You can't fight thousands and thousands of years of evolutionary selection.
Seems like sex would be practically inevitable in those circumstances-- we are biologically programmed that way. If you don't want to have an extramarital affair why on earth put yourself in that situation?
Lots of attractive men and women work together extensively and don't have sex.
On the other hand, let me give you a more nuanced take on the biology here. I'm sure this 60 year old man would not have invited this 40 year old woman to be at his side as he prosecuted a war to write a book about him prosecuting this war were she not an attractive 40 year old woman. (YOhio, she was a nobody; many people were more qualified to write that book, but not many of them were very sexy.) I'm sure this 60 year old man would not have interested this 40 year old woman were he not one of the most powerful men in the world and a good subject for a book and means to her own fame and fortune.
My other observation is that the kind of hubris is spectacular that would cause someone in the middle of being the supreme commander in a very challenging prolonged foreign war to "embed" a civilian in the process to enable her to write his biography in real time as his story is unfolding an hardly finished. It's disgusting, really. The man looked like he was from Mayberry RFD but he had some kind of big tragic flaw. When a true genius appears, you can know him by this sign: that all the dunces are in a confederacy against him.

Sure, but they weren't just "working together" -- they were spending a lot of time exercising together and hanging out together doing the "interviews" outside of any professional relationship. And their spouses were on the other side of the world, no?Originally posted by SeattleUte View PostMickey mouse post. You sound like an inexperienced BYU person.

Sorry, that's not a typical work colleague relationship. I agree with this article: http://www.businessinsider.com/hangi...rouble-2012-11
We're animals, after all. And one reason our species has been so spectacularly successful over the millennia is that our instincts are powerful enough to trump just about everything — one instinct in particular.

Listen up, you misogynist pigs. If declining looks are sufficient reason to toss a spouse, then there are a bunch of you that had better start treating your wives like queens, because I have seen your photos and FB profiles.
With all due respect.

Looks like Petraeus' successor in Afghanistan isn't clean either....
http://www.washingtonpost.com/world/...washingtonpost
Also, I want to see a picture of this Jill Kelley ladyAccording to a senior U.S. defense official, the FBI has uncovered between 20,000 and 30,000 documents — most of them e-mails — of “potentially inappropriate” communications between Allen and Jill Kelley, a 37-year-old Tampa woman whose close relationship with Petraeus ultimately led to his downfall.
EDIT: Nevermind

Preach it, brother. I find this more repulsive than the infidelity -- much more. It's the same with the rampant socializing in Tampa at swanky parties. You're prosecuting a deadly war. The lives of our sons and daughters are on the line. Get the fuck to work and keep your head in the game and your dick in your pants. We're at war, damn it, not at some sorority party. Disgusting. The military should flat out ban this type of banal partying by those leading a war effort costing the blood and treasure of this nation. It reminds me of that scene in Return of the King where the steward eats his savory meal, biting into ripe cherry tomatoes with juice falling down his chin, while his son and soldiers ride to war and to their deaths. We live in a decadant, unserious age, especially among those who should be more serious than any others.Originally posted by SeattleUte View PostMy other observation is that the kind of hubris is spectacular that would cause someone in the middle of being the supreme commander in a very challenging prolonged foreign war to "embed" a civilian in the process to enable her to write his biography in real time as his story is unfolding an hardly finished. Thought experiment: General Eisenhower sending thousands of telegrams to some skanky socialite in Tampa during the invasion and Battle for Europe.
What a colossal misuse of time. What an unforgivable lack of focus for that position. Fire them all. They're at war. Just because most Americans have forgotten about the tens of thousands of troops putting their life on the line does not excuse the generals leading the effort to treat it like some sabbatical from their teaching stint at the War College.
