Reid is no more dishonest than Chaffetz, Hatch, Herbert, Lee, Stewart, Bishop or Love. He's a fiery liberal, so he is disliked here. I get it, I'm repulsed by Chaffetz and probably have a similar reaction to him as you do Reid.

As to your question about what the "liar bastard" said, yeah I did hear that and I don't blame him. The GOP is recalcitrant and if they would never allow a hearing on a nominee then, that needs to happen.

GOP Senate leadership are dumb. The saber-rattling is just that. Everyone knows they will have to confirm the next nominee barring something extraordinary coming up in hearings (not something ideological).

They should have promptly declared victory when Obama nominated Garland and held a press conference saying they are glad Obama came to his senses and finally nominated a moderate SC Justice. Instead they fall right into Obama's trap and allow themselves to be painted as obstructionists. I think Obama knew the Republicans wouldn't confirm anyone before the election, so he put up someone he didn't necessarily want, knowing that Hillary could put in someone much farther to the left after the election. In the meantime he gets to look reasonable and the Republicans look like whiny babies, again. As usual, Obama is playing chess while turkey-neck McConnell plays checkers.

It will be interesting to see what will happen if Hillary does win. I would think that the republicans would want to confirm Garland because he is older and he appears to be about as moderate left as the right could hope for. Does Obama pull the nomination before they can vote on him, though? I don't think Obama will, but it could get interesting.

So all of his video's are discredited, OK. I guess Donna B. has told the truth, so that means she didn't lie about the questions or maybe she lied about the questions so we can assume anything she says is a lie.

My point is why wander into the bull shit with both of these candidates. Arguing over which is the biggest shit bag only soils us. They both stink to high heavens. Let's rationally discuss what happens when either one of them ends up President.

For one thing he received money from Trump, http://www.nbcnews.com/politics/2016...-keefe-n670381.

Here's an article about the guy he smeared:http://www.prwatch.org/news/2013/03/...-alec’s-help. Others have said he did the same thing with their interview footage.

The difference is that it's Trump's own words that have been a dog whistle for these groups to step up and feel it's ok to be a public racist again. When Trump starts his campaign on the basis of bashing Mexicans, or complains about the fact that a judge assigned to one of his many fraud cases is "Mexican" despite the fact he's like a third generation American from Indiana, or when he gives a speech which includes an otherwise legitimate criticism of Obama by not being able to resist the urge to throw in an additional jab of "who happens to be African American" to the delight and howls of his audience, why wouldn't these white nationalists get the idea that Trump is one of them?

A couple of GOP senators are already starting to say it's their plan to try to keep the Supreme Court seat vacant for four years if Hillary wins.

But I agree with your point. They should have just confirmed and moved on. Now they'll only get someone worse. It's annoying how stupid politicians are sometimes.

I think that is wishful thinking. Her character is certainly worse than President Obama's, but policy wise and being a manipulater I think Pres. Obama is worse. He got re-elected.

She will have the full support of the Democrats. They don't have a problem with character in their party. Republicans have their "principled" sector which in the past and going forward means they can't come together.

Also we will be further down the line with the growing groups that will only vote democrat.

You're right about both being awful. And I already voted in Texas for Johnson. If Clinton wins I don't think it's the wise strategy for the senate to try to keep the Supreme Court seat vacant for four years. It would be a horrible precedent and not help the GOP win future elections. The second Clinton wins, the lame duck senate should push through the confirmation of the judge Obama already nominated. I doubt they're smart enough to do that, but it would score them a point in the argument and call Obama's bluff.

Agreed. Elections have consequences. If she is President, she should get to appoint and have confirmed her choices. Within reason of course. From what I know of Garland, he is certainly within reason.

                                Who Goes Trump?

What ultimately determines support for the GOP nominee isn’t race, class, or political ideology. It’s character.

For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.

Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."
