One wishes Hillary could have been more truthful, forthcoming and self-critical about the email mess than she has been. But it's easy to see why she hasn't (and I do NOT mean this as any defense for her). In the 90's, she and Bill did nothing but deny, deny, deny, while condemning their accusers in the strongest (and often false) terms. Yet Bill ended up his presidency with very high approval ratings, and Hillary went on to be a U.S. Senator and then Secretary of State. I'm not a behavioral psychologist, but given the success they enjoyed with that approach, it's understandable (though hardly forgivable) that such lousy behavior persists.

It is shocking how fast the race has tightened. According to the RCP "no toss ups" map, if the election were today, the result would be Clinton at 294 electoral votes and Trump at 244. Both NC and Nevada are trending towards Trump and could turn. That would put the result at 273 to 265. Crazy, close.

But Trump still has a steep road to climb. To make it that close he would pretty much have to run the table in the 9 states that are tossups. And that's with RCP still keeping Utah in Trump's column even though I think there is a more compelling argument that it is actually a tossup state. The only reason RCP has it leaning Trump is because of the one outlier poll done a couple of weeks ago showing Trump up by 17 points. But that one used a methodology that made it harder for a respondent to select a third party candidate. That wouldn't matter in a normal election cycle. But this one it does. Take that one poll out of the average and Utah would be pretty much a dead heat.Originally posted by imanihonjin View PostIt is shocking how fast the race has tightened. According to a tweet I saw, the party registration of early voters is a mixed bag compared to 2012. Iowa, Ohio, Nevada and North Carolina look better for Trump. Colorado and Virginia look better for Hillary.
Ohio and Iowa seem to have the most interesting results, where Trump seems to be clearly outperforming Romney. The question is whether that could bleed over at all to a state like Pennsylvania which also has a large white working class population.Part of it is based on academic grounds. Among major conferences, the Pac-10 is the best academically, largely because of Stanford, Cal and UCLA. “Colorado is on a par with Oregon,” he said. “Utah isn’t even in the picture.”

Agree. Would be something if the deny, deny, deny, strategy ended up with Hillary getting impeached like her husband. I voted for Hillary. No. This is all going according to prophecy. We are on target for a 270-270 deadlock with McMullin taking Utah. Then he gets on his white horse and saves the constitution when he becomes president.Originally posted by Moliere View PostQuick, someone get Lebowski a change of underwear.

As the wikileaks turns... "dump all those emails"

On another matter....and not to sound like Lanny, but we are going to have to dump all those emails so better to do so sooner than laterhttp://www.washingtontimes.com/news/...urging-hillar/WikiLeaks emails reveal Podesta urging Clinton camp to ‘dump’ emails
A new round of WikiLeaks documents released Tuesday reveal a March 2015 exchange between Hillary Clinton’s campaign chairman and confidant Cheryl Mills on the need to “dump” emails.
Twitter’s trending news feed was dominated by #PodestaEmails25 after a new batch of stolen documents belonging to John Podesta were posted online. A March 2, 2015, discussion between Mrs. Clinton’s top advisers shows Mr. Podesta expressing a desire to “dump all those emails.”

I drove through rural Pennsylvania today and judging by the number of Trump/Pence signs along the road between Washington and Gettysburg I think it's possible. Crazy how many Trump/Pence signs there were compared to in Utah where I honesty can't remember seeing one on anybody's lawn.Originally posted by Color Me Badd Fan View PostThe question is whether that could bleed over at all to a state like Pennsylvania which also has a large white working class population.

Dump can mean different things. It could mean to dump everything at once to the FBI and get it over with rather than having a constant trickle of bad news.Originally posted by Uncle Ted View PostAs the wikileaks turns... "dump all those emails"

Strangely enough, that interpretation is also bad because it shows knowledge by the Clinton people early on, and they clearly didn't follow that suggested strategy by Podesta.Part of it is based on academic grounds. Hillary Rodham Clinton exclusively used a personal email account to conduct government business as secretary of state, State Department officials said, and may have violated federal requirements that officials’ correspondence be retained as part of the agency’s record.
Mrs. Clinton did not have a government email address during her four-year tenure at the State Department. Her aides took no actions to have her personal emails preserved on department servers at the time, as required by the Federal Records Act.
A congressional subpoena for the email server was issued a few days later.Last edited by Uncle Ted; 11-01-2016, 06:32 PM."If there is one thing I am, it's always right." -Ted Nugent.
