I'm glad he had a good performance. I could vote for Rubio and I think he would have a good shot at beating Hillary.

I saw the video of the exchange today. My first thought was that Bush has a weird voice. But when I thought about it, I figured out that I really haven't heard him speaking until now (haven't watched the debates, and I stay away from TV news channels). But still, he does have a weird voice.

Second, what a terrible, tone-deaf performance. No wonder he's languishing in the polls. This was the establishment candidate????

That was an excellent moment for him. Critiquing his non voting is dumb. It's even more dumb for people that endorsed other candidates in the past that did exactly the same thing. Jeb is toast. No one likes him and soon he'll be out of money.
"Discipleship is not a spectator sport. We cannot expect to experience the blessing of faith by standing inactive on the sidelines any more than we can experience the benefits of health by sitting on a sofa watching sporting events on television and giving advice to the athletes. And yet for some, “spectator discipleship” is a preferred if not primary way of worshipping." -Pres. Uchtdorf

i generally don't mind rubio, but some of the personal finance stuff is really disconcerting and shows awful judgment.

I agree with the article. Rubio seemed better prepared, less desperate, and his response took the high ground while making Jeb look petty and foolish.

            • Good commentary on the debate. Nothing much new, but interesting nonetheless.

"Guitar groups are on their way out, Mr Epstein."

Upon rejecting the Beatles, Dick Rowe told Brian Epstein of the January 1, 1962 audition for Decca, which signed Brian Poole and the Tremeloes instead.

              • Bush is supposedly considering going scorched earth on Rubio. He needs to figure out that no one wants him to be the nominee outside of a cloistered (but wealthy) class of donors.
Part of it is based on academic grounds. Among major conferences, the Pac-10 is the best academically, largely because of Stanford, Cal and UCLA. “Colorado is on a par with Oregon,” he said. “Utah isn’t even in the picture.”

Not sure why he feels attacking rubio is the best. Why not attack cruz or trump.

I think everyone sane is convinced that Cruz, Trump, and Carson will eventually implode or fade. I am in that camp still, but maybe the whole party has gone crazy and we will nominate Trump after all.

I can't stand trump. Not a bit. I would vote for any of the current candidates from either side of the aisle rather than vote for trump.
                      PLesa excuse the tpyos.

Yeah I doubt I could vote for him. Can't vote for Hillary either, so if it's Trump vs. Hillary, I'll probably pull an Uncle Ted and throw my vote for some obscure candidate.

I don't think Cruz will implode. He probably won't win the nomination, but he won't implode. All things considered, he's run a very competent campaign. He's fundraised well, handled his media appearances effectively to the point where he's not an afterthought. Cruz is, as Alan Dershowitz says, "off the charts brilliant." The problem for Cruz is his creepy demeanor and his strident brand of conservatism. That's why he's likely not going to win the nomination.

Carson, whose appeal is completely mystifying to me, I assume has to be the first to implode. One can be a presidential candidate and only make so many dumb comments. Unless you're Donald Trump.

I"m beginning to fear that Trump might actually get the nomination. He's a fairly big celebrity and he knows how to keep himself in the spotlight. I hope that when it comes time to vote in the primaries that people start taking the process more seriously.

The really good news is that unless you live in Ohio or Florida you already know where your electoral votes are going, so you can vote for any candidate and be the same.
