The exact opposite way CNN will spin it. There is no such thing as an objective media. There is also nothing surprising about not indicting her. Sure, they'd indict someone else for the same offense, but there isn't a chance in hell she'd be convicted, so why indict? She broke the law and everyone knows it. Proving it was intentional to the satisfaction of those who would be called upon to convict just ain't gonna happen. Unfortunately, she's the rule, not the exception, when it comes to politicians thinking laws are for other people.

CNN is not a propaganda network like Fox or MSNBC. Man conservatives are so conspiratorial about the media. You are right about objectivity, because human beings are human beings no story can be completely objective. Fairness is a better gold standard for journalism.

I agree with frank. MSNBC is a total left wing propaganda machine and of course there is no such thing as perfect objectivity (in the media or anywhere). But CNN should not be lumped in with MSNBC or Fox.

Just for an experiment, I visited CNN.com to see the headlines. First three headlines on Clinton/FBI:

FBI Director James B. Comey dismantled large portions of Clinton's long-told story about her private server and what she sent or received on it during a stirring 15-minute news conference, after which he took no questions. While Comey exonerated Clinton, legally speaking, he provided huge amounts of fodder that could badly hamstring her in the court of public opinion.

Most importantly, Comey said the FBI found 110 emails on Clinton's server that were classified at the time they were sent or received. That stands in direct contradiction to Clinton’s repeated insistence she never sent or received any classified emails. And it even stands in contrast to her amended statement that she never knowingly sent or received any classified information.

Comey condemned Clinton and her top aides as “extremely careless” in how they handled classified information during her time as the head of the State Department, adding: “Any reasonable person … should have known that an unclassified system was no place” for that sort of information.

There was more — much more. Comey said Clinton had used not one but multiple private email servers during her time at State. He said Clinton used multiple email devices during that time. (She had offered her desire to use a single device for “convenience” as the main reason she set up the private server.) He noted that the lawyers tasked by Clinton with sorting her private emails from her professional ones never actually read all of the emails (as the FBI did in the course of its investigation). Comey said that while the FBI found no evidence that Clinton’s private server was hacked by foreign governments, it was possible that it had been. He argued that the Clinton lawyers had deleted emails they marked as personal that contained professional content, and that while the FBI found some of those emails in its investigation, it was certainly possible more existed that they were unable to track down.

It’s worth remembering at this point that Clinton and her team deleted more emails than they turned over to the State Department.

It’s hard to read Comey’s statement as anything other than a wholesale rebuke of the story Clinton and her campaign team have been telling ever since the existence of her private email server came to light in spring 2015. She did send and receive classified emails. The setup did leave her — and the classified information on the server — subject to a possible foreign hack. She and her team did delete emails as personal that contained professional information.

Those are facts, facts delivered by the Justice Department of a Democratic administration. And those facts run absolutely counter to the narrative put forth by the Clinton operation: that this whole thing was a Republican witch-hunt pushed by a bored and adversarial media.

There you go, she's a damned liar, a callous, calculating, damned liar. No better than The Dump in ethical terms, just not as big a buffoon. In many ways more dangerous because she has a starry-eyed following and people actually think she has some substance to her. Bernie was such an idiot.

FBI Won’t Recommend Criminal Charges Against Hillary Clinton Over Private Email Use


FBI Director Comey does say the presidential candidate was ‘extremely careless’ in handling highly classified information

The head of the FBI on Tuesday recommended against charging Hillary Clinton for mishandling classified information while she was secretary of state, even as he harshly criticized the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee for being “extremely careless” with the nation’s secrets.


In a 15-minute statement at Federal Bureau of Investigation headquarters, James Comey said “any reasonable person” in Mrs. Clinton’s position should have known the sensitive material involved merited greater security. The announcement ended a lengthy investigation of Mrs. Clinton’s use of private email for government work.


“Although we did not find clear evidence that Secretary Clinton or her colleagues intended to violate laws governing the handling of classified information, there is evidence that they were extremely careless in their handling of very sensitive, highly classified information,” Mr. Comey said.

That's a good habit to be in.

CNN has problems, but Anderson Cooper does value facts and tries to be fair.

Much of what passes for "the news" these days is the delusional, ideological, gossip-laden, emotionally-manipulative, divisive fantasies of demagogues who vainly search for ways to support their presuppositions while they prop up their ratings, bosses, political allies, advertisers, and brands.

I am somewhat surprised there are not more Democrats abandoning Hillary. The efforts by the Democrats on the Benghazi panel to protect her should be embarrassing. At some point they should at least pretend they care about the harder right.

It is obvious she is going to win, likely very handily. Trump will continue to stomp on his own pecker. So they could step out of line without really jeapordizing their control of the White House and at least give off the illusion that they fundamentally believe in something other than power and their agenda.
