  • Trump, Sanders, technology, globalization; the physical, economic and spiritual decline of the white working class; the transexual bathroom wars; the rise of coastal women; the decline of Mormonism, the decline of American Protestantism, the destruction of the Christian Right--they're all related.

Head of the Class, by George Packer. http://nyer.cm/yPka3iR

(Packer shamelessly rips off Sullivan without attribution, doesn't he.)

Were they giving everyone free tuition?

        • As of this morning, all of the absentee ballots cast in the California GOP primary of which I am aware have been voted in favor of John Kasich. Trump has yet to receive a single vote.

Look at who the president of the college was when it started having real financial problems.

So Hillary is going to put Bill in charge of the economy. Seems weird. Is there a reason why this isn't weird? Is this the first time that an ex-president has been mentioned as someone that would take charge of a very important part of another president's role? Sure, the economy functioned well during Bill's presidency but that was 20 years ago.

We cannot expect to experience the blessing of faith by standing inactive on the sidelines any more than we can experience the benefits of health by sitting on a sofa watching sporting events on television and giving advice to the athletes. And yet for some, “spectator discipleship” is a preferred if not primary way of worshipping." -Pres. Uchtdorf

“Because, you know, he knows how to do it,” she said. “Especially in places like coal country and inner-cities and other parts of our country that have really been left out.”
I've said this before, but Bill just needs Al Gore to invent the internet again. Instant 90s boom, revisited. As far as helping out coal country, maybe Hillary can reverse Obama's EPA regulations vis-a-vis coal.

NOLAND, Mary Anne Alfriend. Faced with the prospect of voting for either Donald Trump or Hillary Clinton, Mary Anne Noland of Richmond chose, instead, to pass into the eternal love of God on Sunday, May 15, 2016, at the age of 68.

                  • So I'll just say what everyone here is thinking. Donald Trump is like a composite character of all the bad guys in the Book of Mormon.

He's as bipolar as Laman and Lemuel.

He's a selfish and rich asshole like Laban.

Shares the same taste in interior decoration as King Noah.

Doesn't believe in repentance like Nehor.

                    Same branding sensibilities as Amlici.

                    Authoritarian like a kingman.

                    Rocks a disguise like Kishkumen.

Pride cycles like the Nephites (Success then lawsuits then divorce then bankruptcy then a TV special or two and the process repeats)

I'm sure there's a ton of others but that's my scripture study for the day. I leave with Moroni's peak into the 2016 election:

36 And I know that ye do walk in the pride of your hearts; and there are none save a few only who do not lift themselves up in the pride of their hearts, unto the wearing of very fine apparel, unto envying, and strifes, and malice, and persecutions, and all manner of iniquities; and your churches, yea, even every one, have become polluted because of the pride of your hearts.

37 For behold, ye do love money, and your substance, and your fine apparel, and the adorning of your churches, more than ye love the poor and the needy, the sick and the afflicted.

38 O ye pollutions, ye hypocrites, ye teachers, who sell yourselves for that which will canker, why have ye polluted the holy church of God? Why are ye ashamed to take upon you the name of Christ? Why do ye not think that greater is the value of an endless happiness than that misery which never dies—because of the praise of the world?

39 Why do ye adorn yourselves with that which hath no life, and yet suffer the hungry, and the needy, and the naked, and the sick and the afflicted to pass by you, and notice them not?

40 Yea, why do ye build up your secret abominations to get gain, and cause that widows should mourn before the Lord, and also orphans to mourn before the Lord, and also the blood of their fathers and their husbands to cry unto the Lord from the ground, for vengeance upon your heads?

41 Behold, the sword of vengeance hangeth over you; and the time soon cometh that he avengeth the blood of the saints upon you, for he will not suffer their cries any longer.

                    • We need an Arnold Friberg painting of Mitt standing atop the border Wall calling Drumpf's followers to repentance.

That is far too young. But I like her style.

In essence, we are offered the individual evils plus the evils of the respective parties. If we neutralize the evils of the individuals, then we are left with the evils of the parties and the Democratic Party is wrong on all issues even if the GOP is wrong on most issues.
"Guitar groups are on their way out, Mr Epstein."

Upon rejecting the Beatles, Dick Rowe told Brian Epstein of the January 1, 1962 audition for Decca, which signed Brian Poole and the Tremeloes instead.

                          • Every now and then I end up listening to Bernie speak. I want to make sure I am not calling him naive, ignorant and clueless based on things other people say he said.

Last night confirmed my belief he is basically a cartoon character.

He stated something to the effect we need to take America back from the billioniare's. They are running the country. So the billionaire's are to blame for us having Obama the last 7 years? The billionaire's are to blame for us having a choice between Hillary and Donald Trump?

The only billionaire I personally know is PAC and I just don't think he could mess things up as bad as they are.

Here are the billionaire's I know of. Trump, Soros, the Walton's, Gates, Buffet, perhaps the Job family, the guy who owns the Clippers, the Koch brothers. Since there are about 500 of them, this is a small sample.

I will bet though the small sample is representitive of all of them. They all have differeing opinions. Soros and the Koch brothers are colluding to run the country. LOL Bernie, you truly are a loveable and laughable old fart.

I wonder who CNN is now rooting for. Not just the pundits, but the anchors were saying over and over again about Kentucky, a win is a win.
