That raises an interesting question: if no candidate receives 270 electoral votes and the election goes to the House, are House members obligated to vote only for those candidates who received votes during the election, or is this where Romney/Ryan rally the GOP majority?

Bummer, but thanks. If I recall correctly, if this goes to Congress, the House elects the President and the Senate elects the VP. Given that there's a distinct possibility that the Dems will control the Senate, and virtually no possibility they'll control majorities representatives from 25 or more states, in the event of a contested election it'll be, "Hello, President Trump and Vice President Warren!"

You can't seriously think a 3rd party candidate has a snowball's chance in hell of winning, do you? Barring Clinton being struck by lightning or being indicted (both have about the same likelihood of happening), she is going to be the 45th prez regardless of whether there is a 3rd party candidate.

They would possibly only need to win a few states to ensure no one gets the majority of electoral votes. Then the House of Reps votes. If it got to that point anything could probably happen.
