Florida appears to be tightening. Monmouth just released a poll (the only public poll in Florida in March?) that shows Rubio down 8 to Trump. An anti-Trump group claimed over the weekend that they have polling that shows Rubio only down 5.

Which would be consistent with the trend we saw playing out on Saturday. Trump is losing ground and the attacks have been working to some extent. Without early voting Cruz would have won in Louisiana. This article analyzes what happened. I think nationally Cruz is starting to get most of the benefit, but in certain places like Florida (and Puerto Rico) Rubio may still benefit. Also, in Florida you have to keep in mind the contrasts of different parts of that state. Where Trump would be set to win big against Rubio is in the panhandle. Well, that's where Cruz should do very well. I know the conventional wisdom is that Cruz working harder in Florida hurts Rubio most, but I don't necessarily agree. If Cruz can soften Trump's support in the panhandle, Rubio is set to take the parts of Florida with high Hispanic populations.Originally posted by Omaha 680 View PostFlorida appears to be tightening. The MSM may have jumped off of the Trump bandwagon a bit too soon. I have heard him more often say CNN has been good him more than he has said Fox has been. I think I have actually even heard him say MSNBC has been fair to him more often than I have heard him say so about Fox. The MSNBC thing may be Joe and Mika based. They love Trump. I think mainly because as they claim, they saw the Trump phenom long before the other pundits.
He was good for ratings and can anyone honestly deny the MSM would far rather have Trump as the republican candidate?
Rubio is dead on right in one thing. Once Trump has the nomination locked up and goes up against Hillary, they will tear him to pieces. They have enough ammo now, why aren't they actively using it yet?

This is a great tip, '71. Scarborough and Mika do not love Trump. I watch them every day. They are softballish when they talk to him so he'll come back, but they don't "like" him by any means if you listen to what they say when he's not being interviewed. Neither one of them wants him to win, Mika especially. And Joe would rather see Cruz or Rubio. What they don't do is bash Trump supporters. But they don't really like Trump. I think they're just resigned to the fact that he's a major phenomenon and deal with that accordingly. And then the usual panel of commentators they have on there are very decidedly NOT in the pro-Trump crowd.Originally posted by byu71 View PostThe MSM may have jumped off of the Trump bandwagon a bit too soon. Even I am smart enough to recognize the sarcasm. If you don't want to answer the question I understand. Since I know you are, I give you the benefit of the doubt with some of the stuff you come up with. Although I no longer am into trolling, I do understand the merits and fund it provides.

Oh my gosh. How long have you been watching the show. Mika has been a friend of Trump's forever. I agree they, especially Mika dislike his positions, but when they have him on it is kid gloves treatment.Originally posted by BlueK View PostScarborough and Mika do not love Trump. Have you heard them go off on Rubio. How about Romney. How about any reasonable republican. They hammer them. Especially Joe with his know it all and when "I was" stuff. I enjoyed him several years ago. He more and more knows where his bread is buttered and Mika is awful.

What they go off on the the other candidates about is their political tactics and mistakes, but not their ideology. There is a difference. Rubio has made some huge mistakes during the campaign which is why he finds himself in this predicament. Pointing that out doesn't mean they hate him or what he stands for.Same with Romney. And while I liked what Romney said about Trump, I can understand the other side that says he should stay out of it. Joe has talked many times over the years about the need for the GOP to adopt a more friendly, reasonable stance on immigration or they will never again regain the Hispanic vote. That seems to be pretty pro-reasonable republican to me.Originally posted by byu71 View PostOh my gosh. How long have you been watching the show. Mika has been a friend of Trump's forever. With Trump they disagree on the ideology but are nice to him when he's on so he'll want to keep coming back. They're actually civil and nice to all their guests. That doesn't mean they agree with them. I think we've gotten so used to the tactics of the Becks, Limbaughs, Hannitys and O'Reillys that we now equate being civil with guests with meaning that we embrace every single thing about them and their positions. Or if we disagree with them we have to talk about them like they're satan. I'm just saying there is a little more nuance to Morning Joe than most of what's on the cable network shows, which is why I've been a regular viewer as long as it's been on.Last edited by BlueK; 03-07-2016, 01:59 PM.

Kind of like Roe v. Wade has settled the abortion issue and there isn't anything conservatives can do about it?Originally posted by SeattleUte View PostTrump can't do anything about federal court First Amendment cases. His promise to change libel laws is a good example of pure windbaggery.

Agreed. Whether politicians really mean what they say or not, they should still be held responsible at the ballot box for advocating really bad ideas.Originally posted by beefytee View PostKind of like Roe v. How many Trump supporters do you personally know?
For me, it's only one guy at work. No one else I know about. If anything, this election seems to be about class structure more than we've seen in the past. It's starting to feel kind of third-worldish to me.Last edited by BlueK; 03-07-2016, 02:18 PM.
