Would a promise of a position of National Security Advisor be enough for someone like Bolton? I agree, I don't know about a guy like that being a Sec. of State. I also wonder if a guy like that could be the Attorney General.Part of it is based on academic grounds. Among major conferences, the Pac-10 is the best academically, largely because of Stanford, Cal and UCLA. “Colorado is on a par with Oregon,” he said. “Utah isn’t even in the picture.”

Like me, he may be too abrasive in the way he states his mind to be Sec. of State. But he'd most definitely be much better as AG or head of the NSA than the two idiots who are in those positions now.Originally posted by Color Me Badd Fan View PostWould a promise of a position of National Security Advisor be enough for someone like Bolton? I don't think it would take any promise of any position. There is a very good chance that Bolton simply thinks Romney is the best candidate. Lots of endorsers are not promised any position in the administration. Perhaps Bolton is not a fan of Gingrich (not hard to imagine). Maybe he just prefers really smart people, which eliminates Santorum and Perry. Maybe he is worried that Ron Paul is getting too much run and Romney seems the most likely to squash him.Originally posted by Color Me Badd Fan View PostWould a promise of a position of National Security Advisor be enough for someone like Bolton? In fact, here is what Bolton said today, which isn't a ringing endorsement, more pragmatism than anything:
"I followed the ... William F. Buckley Jr. test: find the most conservative candidate capable of getting elected, and there are obviously two variables there," Bolton said on Fox News' "On the Record w/ Greta Van Susteren."
"In the words of the old song 'Give Me That Old Time Religion,' Romney is conservative enough and I think that's critical."

He may be endorsing now just to prevent people from believing that he's supporting Gingrich, since Gingrich was pimping Bolton for SOS.Originally posted by Jacob View PostI don't think it would take any promise of any position. That could very well be correct.Originally posted by Pelado View PostIf the non-Romneys can't win in SC, their backers will start to dry up. Donors don't generally want to support a loser. The more primaries Romney wins, in spite of the extended process this election cycle, the less likely the other candidates are to have the funding to continue to put up a fight.

What a great commercial for Ron Paul! The only thing it was lacking the "I'm Ron Paul, and I approve of this message."Originally posted by Uncle Ted View PostRomney needs to turn up the base...

This is a rhetorical question, no?Originally posted by Jacob View PostCan somebody make a non-ridiculous argument that Romney was ever to the left of Ted Kennedy on any issue?
