So are we trying to elect a leader or Nostradamus?

Ron Paul is very likeable. Hes like that one uncle who is super nice but batshit crazy. You're basically the opposite of that. Snarky, grumpy, but grounded by numbers and analysis.Originally posted by Indy Coug View PostNeither is Ron Paul. I'm sounding more and more like him by the minute.Jesus wants me for a sunbeam.

I've got Mitt Fever!!
Seriously, I do. He doesn't fit exactly in with my political leanings....well his record does but not his rhetoric....but despite that I'm actually pretty excited about this whole thing. I wonder how much of it is tied to the fact that we will have a Mormon running for president....like actually running and possibly having a shot at winning. I'd say about 90% of it is probably due to the fact we share the same obscure religion. In fact I am so excited that I went to his website and signed up for email updates. Now I'm getting weekly emails asking me for money and giving me news updates on Mitt and I don't even care that he's spamming me...in fact I like the fact he's spamming me.
I guess in a nutshell, I now know what African Americans felt like during BO's campaign in 2008. It's a pretty cool feeling."Discipleship is not a spectator sport. We cannot expect to experience the blessing of faith by standing inactive on the sidelines any more than we can experience the benefits of health by sitting on a sofa watching sporting events on television and giving advice to the athletes. And yet for some, “spectator discipleship” is a preferred if not primary way of worshipping." -Pres. Uchtdorf

That's exactly it. I'm not sold on Romney 100%, but I simply want to know if a Mormon can actually become the President in the U.S. I inwardly criticized my black, conservative friends for jumping on the BO bandwagon, but I now have a lot more empathy for their mindset.Originally posted by Moliere View PostI've got Mitt Fever!!

So how does POTUS Romney attend the temple? Maybe there are enough recommend-bearing Secret Service agents on the Presidential Protection detail to make it work....Originally posted by Green Monstah View PostThat's exactly it. I'd be willing to bet he takes a 4-year (8-year?) break from temple attendance. The evangelicals would have a field day with Pres. Romney in the temple, taking directives from his Mormon leaders, etc.Originally posted by LA Ute View PostSo how does POTUS Romney attend the temple? If he wins I doubt he attends. The media would be all over it and I imagine he'd rather just keep the church in its rightful place. In spite of what we are told, you only have to attend the temple once to be saved.Originally posted by LA Ute View PostSo how does POTUS Romney attend the temple? They'll retrofit Nixon's bowling alley into an ordinance room.Originally posted by Moliere View PostIf he wins I doubt he attends. He'll stop by and visit church leaders in Salt Lake. They've got security and tunnels. Problem solved.Originally posted by LA Ute View PostSo how does POTUS Romney attend the temple? I dont now if he would do it or not, but I think it would be pretty easy to fully staff a Secret Service team with active LDS members. At one time we had two in our ward (only one now) and they stated there were a lot of active LDS in the Secret Service.Originally posted by LA Ute View PostSo how does POTUS Romney attend the temple?
