This would be funnier in Portland, or Kenosha even. I mean - I've heard of a lot of rioting and protesting a lot of places, but I haven't heard much out of NYC in quite some time. Still funny - but mostly he gets a shrug from me.Originally posted by PaloAltoCougar View Post

Yeah, he should have flown out to Seattle for the Waco-style, country music police assault:Originally posted by Eddie View PostThis would be funnier in Portland, or Kenosha even. It is funny that is the Antifa kids think it is all a game. These kids are a bunch of dummies. They have a very weak understanding of history. Don't they know all the protesting back in late 60's is what helped to get Nixon elected?
Nixon won by a freaking landslide.

Great point Uncle Ted. The Vietnam war and the protests/riots that partly resulted from it took out the party in power. In our case, the pandemic and the protests/riots that partly resulted from it (ask SU, it's true!) are likely to take out the party in power.Originally posted by Uncle Ted View PostYeah, he should have flown out to Seattle for the Waco-style, country music police assault:

Do you write for the Bee?Originally posted by Jeff Lebowski View PostPortland is such a mess.
Blocking people from filming infuriates me.
The Bee may be conservative leaning, but it doesn't pull punches at the expense of authoritarian overreach on either side.
Those surveyed cited a strong military presence in Mos Eisley that helped make them feel safe, while Portlanders said there's no rule of law to stop the chaos.

I've had to unfollow a couple like that. I don't know why there isn't an option that let's you see only the tweets of people you follow, rather than all their re-tweets and likes (this is where someone can call me an idiot and show me the very easy way to do it).Originally posted by chrisrenrut View PostI had to unfollow him. It wasn’t the wokeness, it was his constantly retweeting of responses to his own tweets. Completely filled up my timeline with his tweets over and over again.

and for the sake of the community and probably the country it's a damn good thing this kid is white.I'm like LeBron James.

This is crazy. Mom calls police for help to get him transported to the hospital, and this is the outcome.
I mean - I suppose this COULD result in fewer people calling the police, if that's what they're going for.
I know of a Mom who had her teen adopted daughter begin to get violent on occasion. The daughter's therapist finally told mom that next time it happened, Mom needed to call the police and have her charged with assault. She needed to have consequences for her actions. So the daughter get's violent while they're driving home from the store, and the mom swings her arm out to stop the blows (because she's driving, and doesn't want to wreck - she can't even see where she's swinging!) and she ends up hitting the girl across the chest. No bruises - no marks.
They arrive home. Mom calls the police. The police listen to what Mom says, then pull the girl aside and talk to her. Mom's face and arm are red from the girl hitting her. Girl has no marks of any kind from the one swing mom took at her to get her to stop. Police arrest mom for "child abuse". Mom asks "what's going on! She was hitting me. I was just defending myself. Her therapist said I should call if she got violent again, so that's what I did!"
Police respond with "we're arresting you for child abuse. There is no such thing as parent abuse."
I know and respect a lot of police officers. But some of them are the biggest dumb asses on the entire planet.

yikes. i'm very much pro-police. in these internets i tend to defend them when folks i usually agree with on most issues are ripping them, but man, they make it hard sometimes.Originally posted by Eddie View PostThis is crazy.
