Surveillance video that led to assault charges for a Prince George’s County police officer appears to show a gun firing as an officer struck a man in February.
The footage from a Brentwood, Md., store appears to show Corp. Donald Taylor striking 19-year-old Ryan Dorm with his gun. A flash upon impact appears to be the gun firing.
Taylor lied about the incident, police said. The officer claimed Dorm, believed to be involved in an attempted robbery at a gas station, reached for the officer’s weapon.
Dorm spent about four months in jail before prosecutors dropped the charges against him.

Out-of-control police certainly places the gun control debate into a new perspective, doesn't it? Does anyone believe the USA would be a better place if only the government had guns?

I had to shoot a cop attempting a warrantless search of my house just this morning!

It seems the cops in this man hunt wanted Dorner dead rather than alive...

You can hear in the background thes cops yelling "burn him out" "we're going to burn him out" and "burn that motherf******" right before the fire started at the house.
So much for due process of law.

Obviously I wasn't there so this is pure speculation. I would imagine they tried to get him to come out. They knew the press was all over this and of course the press would love to catch the police overstepping the line.
I don't know about you, but if I was in a gun battle with a guy who wouldn't give up and there was the possibility he could get off a shot and kill me or someone else or worse yet, maybe he could get away. Yea, I think I would want to burn the house down.
Of course if I was sitting at my desk at the NY Times writing an opinion piece, I wouldn't have been that concerned about the chances of him killing someone else.
