Assuming that's actually what happened. There seems to have been a lot of noise and confusion. It doesn't seem inconceivable to me that she didn't know what he was trying to tell her to do.

Nah, I think it's pretty clear that while she's (sort of) complying, she's also mouthing off while doing it and he was sick of it, and wanted to make a statement.

So yeah, I think it's pretty easy to stay out of any real trouble if you're smart, but at the same time, these guys have frighteningly short fuses. And what was with the weird sprint and roll thing at the beginning? If it weren't real, it would be some great comedy.

Yep, imagine that's your daughter or niece or whatever -- I think anybody would approach the cop in that situation and ask him why the hell he's wrestling with a teenager in a bikini. That cop needs to be fired. He's the one escalating the situation by running around like an idiot and picking fights with kids. The other cops seem pretty professional and I'm not sure why they don't reign in the little man.

It looked like the two others ran over to the rescue when he drew his gun. The bigger one kind of steps in front of him and then went on foot after the kid that ran off. I agree- why is he throwing around a little 14 year old in a bikini? Is that really the battle he's picking? And kneeling there on her back yelling at the other kids while she's cuffed and crying? K dude...

My teenager talks some pretty mean shit, but I don't throw her down (pretty pathetic he couldn't cleanly handle a teenager) and put my knees in her back--even though I'm definitely sick of it. Maybe I should have been a cop.

I'm normally pro-cop, but there was no reason this situation should have ever reached that level.

"I can't feel a pulse." You never felt for one, you effing idiot! 5 minutes of him lying face down in his own blood, no one turns him on his side, feels for a pulse/breath sounds/nothing. Then, when the guy starts making motions, he just yells at him to "stay with us" repeatedly? I like how he pulled out the 2x2. Good effort, cop.

And then EMS arrives, and they start cutting off his clothes?? What the hell are they doing? Get him on the effing rig!

This guy and many others just like him are a systemic problem we have with our police. Is it a lack of training? A lack of better qualified individuals who have interest in law enforcement? At some point, do we decide that the failure rate is acceptable, or do we spend more money on training and retention of better people to carry the badge and gun? At the end of the day, don't we get what we pay for?

there's no way to know but i would wager these types of things happen no more frequently than ever before. and there is backlash: cops have been shot and attacked, and people have been stopped before they could get away with murdering cops. there are people on this board who have kids and family that are cops. anybody that roots against police, who by and large honorably and effectively do a horrible thankless job for almost no pay, is categorically a whiny piece of shit that needs to get put in a situation where they fear for their life and see how they react. maybe pull your hands out of your pants and stop backing away from a loaded gun pointed at your face and you won't get shot.
