This is probably the craziest police brawl I've ever seen.

Not sure this fits in this thread, since the use of violence is justified in this instance, but a nomadic Christian family got into an argument with a Wal-Mart employee in Cottonwood, AZ. Police are called, backup arrives, and all hell breaks loose. The big kid in the gray t-shirt fighting the family is a Wal-Mart loss prevention officer and does his part to help the cops out. An officer gets shot in the leg, one of the sons is shot in the head, and another is shot in the abdomen (the kid in all black), but you can't tell he took a bullet based on the video.

What about those cops who were ambushed and murd, uh, messed up while sitting in their car in NYC a few months ago? Sure, it wasn't on video, but at least the bad guy won that time. Silver linings.

I had posted about this on page 18 in this thread... Totally crazy.. I have spent many a weekends in Cottonwood, Az. Part of my Stake growing up..

Why on earth are police even responding to just some kids maybe using a pool they're not supposed to use?

You hear some of the kids saying they were invited to a birthday party and they even return the cop's flashlight when the cop is running around like a lunatic.

The kid taking the video is apparently a white kid -- note that the police didn't bother him or ask him to leave.

The police aren't responding to kids using a pool. They were called and responded to a fight. That is what they should do. Apparently when they arrived people started to scatter so the cops started cuffing folks, most likely to figure out what was going on before people got away. That doesn't seem too egregious up to that point.

there was nothing brutal in that video. i really wish there would have been some taser usage going on.

Admittedly it's difficult to Monday Morning Quarterback this one with all the redacted video. My biggest question is why did the cop pull his gun? I didn't see anything that warranted the use of deadly force.

Yep, imagine that's your daughter or niece or whatever -- I think anybody would approach the cop in that situation and ask him why the hell he's wrestling with a teenager in a bikini. That cop needs to be fired. He's the one escalating the situation by running around like an idiot and picking fights with kids. The other cops seem pretty professional and I'm not sure why they don't reign in the little man.

I'd also ask my daughter why she's not complying with police officers lawful orders. That's just stupid, and can get you killed as you can see by the drawn weapon.

Assuming that's actually what happened. There seems to have been a lot of noise and confusion. It doesn't seem inconceivable to me that she didn't know what he was trying to tell her to do.
