I am assuming that they did the second and third enemas because they knew by that time that they were completely screwed, and their only hope was to find some drugs to discredit this guy. I am often sympathetic to the police, but if this story is true as reported, it is absolutely crazy.

Apparently, they were deemed to be an enema of the state.

When they get to court on this, and the officers are thinking of all that they potentially have to lose, and it causes them to clench their butt cheeks just a little, I hope the judge offers them the choice between just admitting they were wrong and accepting the consequences or stopping for a recess while they take a trip to the medical center for a couple of finger checks, 3 enemas, and a colonoscopy just to be sure they haven't smuggled drugs into the courtroom before they continue with the hearing.

We should wait judgement. Maybe there are extenuating circumstances.

Everyone knows it's incredibly common to stick drugs up your butthole even though you're sitting down in the carseat, you have 30 seconds to do it and the police officer's spotlight is shining through your window.

                      This story is totally bizarre.
Part of it is based on academic grounds. Among major conferences, the Pac-10 is the best academically, largely because of Stanford, Cal and UCLA. “Colorado is on a par with Oregon,” he said. “Utah isn’t even in the picture.”

SoCal, admittedly, I Crim Pro is not my forte, but aren't damages for 4th amendment search and seizures extremely limited?

Doesn't the amount of examination seem excessive? I would sue their asses off.

There's a possibility that the victim here has a criminal history. But you'd figure the first x-ray, finger up the butthole, enema and stool examination would have been enough to determine whether he was keistering some drugs. When they hadn't pegged him yet, it appears as if they decided a second round of these treatments along with a colonoscopy was in order.

A CT scan with oral contrast would have answered the question pretty reliably, I would think.
