Michelle Bachmann's Head is a Novelty Fishbowl

Some liberals are disagreeing with you, I wouldn't read too much into it. For the record, I think you're spot on. Not that my endorsement helps.

I haven't paid too much attention to Bachmann until recently, but honestly I don't get the dumb-dumb label. As much as I want to like her, Sarah Palin makes me cringe. I was expecting the same thing with Michelle Bachman, but I'm just not seeing that. In the debate and in the Sunday interviews she comes across as intelligent and capable.

I didn't agree with her position on "don't raise the debt ceililng no matter what", and I don't think she's presidential material, but I love it that we have her in the congress. And just in case the improbable happens...hell yeah I'd vote for her over Obama. In a heartbeat.

I agree, Palin and Bachmann are totally different. Palin has given exactly two serious interviews to big time journalists and she was absolutely destroyed in both. And the thing is, Courac aren't nearly as brutal as Chris Wallace or even David Gregory from Meet the Press. Bachmann did interviews with both yesterday, and did pretty well.

Palin is wholly unqualified to be President. Am I the only that thinks she just rambles off talking points in some indecipherable way many times when she opens her mouth.

Bachmann does not have time or location on her side. She got a late start in politics due to family commitments and there's also no effing way she could ever be Senator or governor of Minnesota. She's only been in the House since 2006. The fact that she finds herself in her present situation is a testament to her to her political skill. True, Palin also wasn't in politics very long and look where she's at, but it's in large part due to a desperate McCain campaign trying to make a splash with a crazy, unconventional pick of an attractive and politically aggressive female governor (who also was totally unsuitable for the oval office).

Bachmann's downside is not only her lack of experience, but her apparent inability to seemingly ever compromise on anything which seems to come about in her efforts to score political points. Maybe it's a function of Bachmann trying to get ahead in such short period of time, or maybe she's simply unable to compromise. Maybe some people like the lone warrior out there, but I'm a bigger fan of Paul Ryan's meaningful and substantive policy propositions that have actually shifted the debate because they're also laced with pragmatism--something that Bachmann lacks.

She will never be president (and shouldn't be) but she's no dummy. It's foolish (among other things) to write an accomplished opponent off as stupid. (Don't ask me how I know this.). But I'm happy to see liberals do it.

I agree and I think it's the former. There were two tea party positions: one that allowed for a debt ceiling increase and one that didn't. To take the latter position smacked of political theater. She doesn't compromise because she doesn't have to. I think if she were in a leadership positin she would.

Again, I like her. She's a great congresswoman. You need people out there on the edges fighting and pulling the debate their direction even if they're on the losing end or not really "getting things done" (which always scares me anyway in the context of Washington).

During a stop in South Carolina on Tuesday, Republican presidential candidate Michele Bachmann wished the late Elvis Presley a "Happy Birthday."

The problem: the message from the conservative congresswoman comes on the anniversary of the death of the "King of Rock and Roll."

"Before we get started, let's all say 'Happy Birthday' to Elvis Presley today," said Bachmann while speaking in the Palmetto State. "We played you a little bit of promise land when we pulled up. You can't do better than Elvis Presley."
