  • JD Vance is a duplicitous POS

The hillbilly deserves his own thread, as he angles to become the nominee in 2028.

He's smart enough to know he's lying here. Rather than learning from the approach the Allies took to dealing with Nazi Germany as a lesson on how we should respond to Putin's Russia in Ukraine, he uses his "authoritative voice" to rewrite history and advocate for a soft approach to Putin.

    Give 'em Hell, Cougars!!!

For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.

Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

Hitler shot himself. We nuked Japan. What in the hell is he talking about?

Vance has been programmed by Peter Thiel and is all in on this technofascism shit. Vivek is the other guy that Thiel cultivated this way. They are sociopathic

The simplest answer? He's not very bright, but his manner of talking fits perfectly for an audience that just wants to hear someone proudly defend what they believe in.
"...you pointy-headed autopsy nerd. Do you think it's possible for you to post without using words like "hilarious," "absurd," "canard," and "truther"? Your bare assertions do not make it so. Maybe your reasoning is too stunted and your vocabulary is too limited to go without these epithets."

I think a Vance presidency could be more destructive than a Trump presidency.

I'm not confident enough to make predictions, but how much more gas in the tank does this populist fervor have? JD isn't particularly likeable. Doesn't have the charisma or fanbase of Trump. How is this man supposed to lead a post Trump party to another national victory? People were sick of Trump and his drama after 4 years before. What's the argument this will be any different unless Trump makes some profound changes to his economic plans?

If the Democrats get taken by their populist wing, then it's time to worry. I'm not sure Mamdami mania socialism has much of a pull outside of NYC or progressive cities. Plus, Trump is already doing the dumb central planning that the AOC/Mamdami crowd want to do. The appetite for more won't be very compelling.

People underestimate Vance at their peril.

Whatever JD Vance is, it's not dumb. I agree with All-American

I think Rubio will be a major player.

I don't know much about Mamdami, but there currently isn't anyone in the democrat's camp who exhibits this level of authoritarianism or narcissism.

I'm not worried about NYC having a socialist mayor. I worry more Trump's reaction to election results people chose.

He has sent soldiers on the DC streets because one of Elon's minions got beat up.

Trump doesn't have the capacity to formulate effective economic plans. He just cosplays as a tough talking mobster. He just likes yelling "tariffs!" all the time.

Still waiting on those Epstein files. Trump game planning how to appease the monster that is Ghislaine Maxwell, is disgusting.

If Trump voters don't have regret by this point, they never will. Vance is set up to be the successor to Trump and has already shown his utter lack of integrity.

He is intelligent and calculated but also amoral. He does lack charisma though.

I mean, people are tribal. The masses are team players and really only retroactively view their beliefs or actions as incorrect. Trump is a uniquely awful leader in modern politics. Blind support for a leader isn't.

Don't just assume your side isn't susceptible to populist economics and authoritarianism. It isn't captured yet but you have had populist authoritarians bubbling since Bernie busted onto the scene.

Dude, stop calling it "my side." I'm not a lock-step soldier for all things democrat. But by God, right-now they are decidedly less evil than MAGA. Bernie isn't an authoritarian. Right now - the threat to our national security and stability is coming from the right.

What do you disagree with about my previous post? Trump is unprecedented is his authoritarianism, and there is no parallel.

Trump is the most vile, crude, and unabashedly sectarian president in the modern era. But Wilson and Roosevelt were more authoritarian than Trump (to this point). His corruption and narcissism gets conflated with authoritarianism and this appears to be the antichrist. He most certainly is an authoritarian, but the fascism stuff is just silly. Populism of his brand is not unprecedented, even if his narcissism is.

The "fascism stuff," isn't silly. I wouldn't so quickly dismiss that term. My friend, I think it is stubborn to recoil at that term being used. Its almost out in the open.

I could have chosen my words better. He was smart enough to become a senator and the vice president. He's a good politician, which requires some intelligence. But he absolutely flails when asked hard questions, like the one above or claiming hilariously that DC is significantly down in 9 short days. That's,,,,just not an intelligent argument. Good politics though.
