I think people didn’t think she was qualified and did not earn her right to be the Dem elected candidate. She didn’t have to run in a primary. She was “selected” and America was told this is your option. Talk about true “No Kings” movement. That was about as undemocratic as it gets.

I personally blame Dems and the whole Dem power-players for this election of Trump. Biden should’ve announced as a 1-term president and allowed for a primary to elect the right person. But greed, arrogance, power all was to alluring..

I too blame that idiot Joe Biden for how things turned out, but this claim that the Harris campaign was undemocratic is nonsense. What in the hell were they supposed to do given that short timeframe? There was nothing illegal or improper about what they did.

My point is not specific to Kamala. Could apply to Hillary as well.

FIFY. Bottom line, the Democratic party elites that knew better than the rank and file hoisted up two of the least able to win candidates in the three races against Trump.

And back to my original point, part of that reason is some people thought a woman would be more emotional and moody than Trump.

Case in point: new 10% tariff on Canada because Trump got his feelings hurt over an ad.

Just saw the ads again watching the WS. I thought I heard they were pulling it, but I guess not.

I hope the Supreme Court doesn’t see Trump’s hurt feelings as a national emergency that justifies his additional 10% tariffs on Canada.

May not have been illegal but can you tell me any other time in history that a Presidential candidate was put in place without going through the primaries? Maybe twice in the history of our country.. Further, couldn’t Biden of selected an entirely different person than Kamala? Like Newsome or another popular candidate? It’s like he gave the Dems a middle finger for forcing him out.

I still think it was undemocratic in the sense the Dems did not get to elect who they wanted to run against Trump. Yes, the people still had a choice so essentially the vote happened and the people got to elect a new President. However, I am not sure Trump wins if there was a true elected Dem candidate via the primary.

Uh, no. Primaries are a relatively recent "innovation." The first election in which both major-party candidates were selected by the primaries was 1976.

In 1968, Hubert Humphries won the Democratic nomination even though he didn't participate in any of the primaries (which were only held in 12 states).

ALL the party nominations used to happen behind closed doors by the party bosses, so it was funny to hear the uproar over Kamala's nomination.

Exactly. The majority of US presidential candidates in history were selected this way.

It's funny to hear republicans complain about how democrats selected their candidates.

Maybe because we ended up with Trump. Not so funny with all the gnashing of teeth and pearl clutching every single day we see here..
