so in case you missed it, israel killed hundreds to thousands of palestinians intentionally by changing times they can line up for aid and then bombing them with tanks or planes when they line up too soon

theres been no success when the war restarted, with the stated being to raze as many houses as possible

Some times it takes a simpleton to disentangle all the overthinking of the elite class to stumble into a solution.

Or shatter the illusion that there is an elite class.

Hostages returned this morning. What a moment.

I have no problem giving Trump and his team credit for this. A happy day.

Agreed. Good for the White House team that got this done. I would love to know the inside story and hope it included the U.S. taking Bibi to the woodshed and forcing an agreement.
                Give 'em Hell, Cougars!!!

For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.

Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

Same, they obviously played a big role in this.

I can't even try to relate what these innocent people were subjected to. It's also another indicator (as if one was needed) of why Hamas is a terrorist group and not a popular resistance movement.

bad on bibi for agreeging to the same withdrawal plan as biden presented 1.5 yrs ago and causing 100s of soldiers and ~6 hostages to lose lives because his hard right wing ally wouldnt do it

good on trump for making him take this. I just wish bibi didnt do a 2nd year for no reason

WSJ article indicates that Turkey, Egypt, and Qatar pressured Hamas to take the deal even though it was on terms Hamas didn't want.

Did I read somewhere that they killed all of the female hostages? If that is true, I imagine that should make most people disgusted.

BBC indicates the same. I think that is the difference between the Biden effort and this breakthrough. Trump just has a different relationship with those regimes for better and for worse. It appears for better this time around. You know, blind squirrels and nuts and all. This pressure made it somewhat plausible that Hamas would comply with the disarmament terms of the agreement where no one really believed that part of the deal in past proposals. We will see if it actually works as Hamas is already fighting potential rivals in Gaza. But at least the hostages are out and there is a potential path to a long-term ceasefire.

Much of what Trump says on the world stage makes me cringe but I'm happy to give him credit for this win and happy that his worst instincts and vanity in the courting of these leaders was used to the west's advantage in this case.

Bibi doesn't deserve a lot of props here. He sidelined hawkish Israeli generals who hesitated about his plans and tactics.

This just isn't true. I know Biden folks are trying to speak this into existence, but it's nonsense.
