I hate to think about the methods that would be used to investigate whether an athlete was transgender.

I imagine that particular task is relegated to junior members on the team.

When Lia Thomas showed off their dick and balls in the women's locker room, it wasn't hard to tell whether they were transgender.

The lawsuits will be fascinating. I am guessing the plaintiffs will win and win big, especially now given that the NCAA has implemented the ban. And they will be pressured to settle because public sentiment is so overwhelmingly in favor of protecting women's sports that I doubt the NCAA would want to have a jury trial.

Teammates have stated the female swimmers were invited to attend a "Trans 101" class where they were told if they had a problem with a trans-female they had psychological problems and needed to see a counselor, as opposed to Thomas.

Appreciate your response. I disagree on the first point. It normalizes participation in a sport by a participant who is ineligible. In any other circumstance there's a consequence like forfeiture or suspension. This is a direct threat to the integrity of the competition, regardless of how common it occurs.

My take is that the mount of energy, attention and focus to this issue comes at significant cost to much more serious and pressing concerns. I also think outside influences have been successful at fueling political division and isolationism.

No one is literally saying those female athletes should shut up.

Are you not at all open to the possibility this issue isn't as significant as things going on with this current administration and Elon grasping power?

Yeah, not literally. But you definitely implied it.

One of my biggest pet peeves on social media is when someone says things like "I can't believe people are complaining about ____ when ____ is happening." As if it is some kind of zero sum game.

Debate the issue on its merits, but please don't try to be a gatekeeper on what people are allowed to care about.
