The continuous righteous-outrage is less potent when you lack the ability to be fair and see that both sides of this corrupt system of politics we have are two sides of the same coin. Once in power they each strive to capture as much as possible and lack the self control or morality to listen to the people. Lest we forget the massive discussion of The Great Reset from the WEF. While it had fair points it could easily be construed as a swing to globalism and due to that we have seen a massive shift in what we see now. Sadly, in an attempt to secure as much power as possible. Once again, they both do this in strategic ways for power.

Disclaimer since I can see it already: This does not endorse any actions by Trump. Just pointing out the hypocrisy
Maybe because the "listening and spying" never happened? At least, not to any greater extent than the NSA already listens and spies on everyone. Read the press release you linked to.

"That data shows when and to whom a call is made, as well as the duration and general location data of the call. The data does not include the content of the call."

It's a call log. It's limited to the 8 Senators who were in Russia during the 4th of July, 2018. It was obtained after the calls occurred.

It's only hypocrisy if we were all here saying it's ok. But nobody here is saying that. If the FBI under Biden broke the law, they should be prosecuted accordingly. I support requiring executive agencies and their officers to follow the law. This kind of whataboutism is lame. Sorry, just being honest.

Well, since it was just call log.. No harm no foul. I guess that justify’s any action at all. What was the request and warrant for this to even be allowed. This was also further denounced as false which lead to the FISA request. And I highly doubt they would release the call details but to act like they didn’t have that information is a bit below your intelligence..

You cherry-picked one component when there is much deeper actions that are appealing.

“Whistleblower disclosures to Grassley earlier this year revealed the FBI acquired the government cell phones of President Donald Trump and former Vice President Mike Pence during its Arctic Frost investigation. Officials in the Biden White House personally assisted the FBI in securing Trump and Pence’s government phones. FBI agents used taxpayer dollars to travel the country and conduct dozens of interviews in support of the political probe.

Records Grassley made public last month showed the FBI also placed 92 Republican-linked individuals and Republican groups – such as Charlie Kirk’s Turning Point USA – under Arctic Frost’s investigative scope.”

The silence implies when we see such outrage on a daily basis here. Even in the cases where of similar actions. The whole Comey grand jury indictment connects to such shady actions.

But appreciate your fair balance. While others will call this a witch hunt. Hardly able to see that when a Grand Jury makes the decision to indict.

Call logs are business records of the cell phone company. No warrant required. Location data pulled from cellphone towers requires a warrant, but these were also government-owned phones. The document they paraded around expressly said that the FBI agent performed "a preliminary toll analysis." A toll analysis means they were looking at the metadata to determine communication patterns. That happened in September 2023, involving an investigation into Trump's attempts to overturn election results. No listening-in involved.

Don't let a grand jury indictment predispose you to a belief of guilt. As any lawyer has been taught, an even half-competent prosecutor can get a grand jury to indict a ham sandwich. The only remarkable thing about the indictment is that the grand jury rejected one of the three counts the prosecutor presented. i'll go out on a very short limb here and say Comey walks away from this. And i dislike very much what Comey did during his tenure.

              • I’ll play along Brock. I think the actions that Biden’s family and inner circle played before the 2024 election resembles a scandal similar in scope to Trump’s claim that the 2020 election was rigged, if that were true. Which of course is false. But knowingly obscuring a candidate’s health so close to a national election should lead to investigations.

but to ‘both sides’ it even more, Biden’s scandal is not as bad as Trump’s insurrection attempt in 2021. And his widescale J6 pardons, and firings and prosecutions of his political enemies. There is just no valid comparison, either to Biden or any president of our lifetimes.

Gathering evidence while investigating a possible crime!

I think J6 not being universally regarding as a horrible attack on county was almost a crossing the rubicon moment. You had sleezebags like Tucker Carlson edit footage and people fall for it.

At his very worst, Biden was miles ahead of Trump in decency. So was Obama so was Bush etc.

I have frustrations, not just with Biden, but his inner-circle who took their damn time in getting him to step aside.

Comey Octobered surprised us into getting MAGAd. He didn't need to breathlessly go to Chaffetz about Hillary's emails

But this is a revenge prosecution on behalf of Trump. He essentially ordered it.

Re: decency - that is a separate issue from Trump's consolidation of power to the executive branch. Both issues are relevant.

Re: frustrations - frustrations is a really tame way to describe how the Biden team hid the truth from Americans.
