One thing I definitely wanted to document in my teenage years was my employment with KFC. Who wouldn't want lots of pictures on actual film of wearing an ugly uniform?Originally posted by Uncle Ted View Post

Two weeks at McDonald's, and one month at KFC. In the 80's. If those franchises have records of me working there the government should be taking notes.Originally posted by Pelado View Post

The sane washing of this election is terrifying.Originally posted by YOhio View PostDemocrats voting for Trump
Republicans voting for Kamala
I listened to these Free Press podcasts back to back this weekend. Really well done and all participants had strong, good faith arguments for their voting choices. I wasn't convinced by either side to change my third-party protest vote, but it did make me feel more optimistic about either outcome. Good reminder going into the final stretch.
Hey the dude saying he’d sic the military on his political opponents, will attempt to destroy NATO, will cozy up to the three worst dictators in our contemporary world is samesies to the lady who will frack the shit out of PA.

If I could distill one aspect of Trump that I think is relatable to most voters and presents a significant problem to the future of the US, it would be his casual indifference to the truth, even when overwhelming evidence proves claims he's made are false. A couple of days ago he still wouldn't let the Haitian migrants eating pets go (when pressed he said 'what about the geese?'). I think reasonable people can understand he is either brazenly lying and never admits when he's wrong, or he actually believes the shit he's peddling. Today he is still parroting the claim that FEMA doesn't have money to help the hurricane victims.
Another problem that the GOP will have to deal with (irrespective of who wins the presidency) is the 8 years that elected officials have been emasculated bowing the knee to him, and the power that Trump will still continue to have. Behind Trump in that video is a NC republican representative. He publicly had to repudiate the canard about FEMA not having money a couple of weeks ago. And today here he is rah-rahing Trump while he continues to lie about FEMA. Those voters are going to be around when Trump leaves, and future elected officials are taking notes on how to energize them.

What?!? You should have voted for Kamala so we can hear the Dems cry about winning the popular vote but still losing the election for the next four years!Originally posted by PaloAltoCougar View PostBecause Kamala is a lock in California, I voted for neither candidate. But I'm convinced that worst case Trump is much worse than worst case Kamala.

People like you are denying us of that pleasure. If Trump wins both the electoral college and popular vote don't expect a christmas card from me this year.

Trump isn't America's Hitler, but in many ways he is America's Goebbels whose "Big Lie" technique (reinforced by Trump's idol and attorney, Roy Cohn) Trump employs with great effect--nearly 70% of Republicans still believe the 2020 election was stolen, despite the absence of any evidence that there were errors, fraud, or malfeasance sufficient to have made any difference. Another Trump presidency will greatly exacerbate the harm Trump inflicts with his Big Lies.Originally posted by Northwestcoug View PostIf I could distill one aspect of Trump that I think is relatable to most voters and presents a significant problem to the future of the US, it would be his casual indifference to the truth, even when overwhelming evidence proves claims he's made are false. Nuts. I thought my voting for the Libertarian would have been enough to overcome your Trumpophilia.Originally posted by Uncle Ted View Post

I look at folks like you as a talisman. You vote for the Libertarian whose party is supporting Trump because he promised them some sway in the election. You had to be convinced that Kamala is better than Trump as if it’s some hard decision.Originally posted by PaloAltoCougar View Post

Because of that I’m convinced she’s going to lose and he’s going to shrink the popular vote gap and your grandkids are going to grow up in a world where your generation and political movement normalized his behavior because they can’t stay off of FB.

I voted over the weekend!
As evidence of my Libertarian bonafides, I voted Libertarian in the Commissioner of Agriculture race.
Voted Democratic for both President and Governor, partially because the Republican candidates for both are utter nutjobs. I am extremely confident that my choice for governor will win, less so for president.
