180 day lock-up agreement is now confirmed. It's also confirmed that TS almost ran out of cash last year and the IPO saved it. Not really a bustling financial picture for TS, which is why the stock tanked hard today. I suspect by the time we get to September, the stock will be below the IPO price...and I'm hoping it's much lower than that.

That has been my reaction to the purveyors of despair and dread. I also don't think he has the brains to effectively run the country either.

          • My longstanding sentiment exactly.

Trump has never worried me. But I've often worried about what will come after him, and who will walk through the doors Trump leaves open.

The problem is that it doesn't take "brains" to be a dictator and he has plenty of people whispering in his ear. It's not reassuring.

History is littered with stories of dipshit dictators. It takes an ability to suppress basic morals and emotions like empathy and obligation, or a lack in the capacity to feel those things.

Idi Amin was notoriously stupid. Pol Pot wasn't a MENSA member either. Pol Pot executed people because they wore glasses. That's dumb but that didn't do much for Cambodia. Evan Mao sent his citizens on a rampage to kill are the song birds. Papa Doc and Baby Doc ran Haiti with brute force and superstition. I've read that one of the things that make dictators so problematic for nations that aren't their own, is that they are more likely to make impulsive and reckless decisions; such initiating military conflicts when it's unnecessary and short-sided.

I'm not afraid of Trump effectively running anything. I think only his followers can find him effective. That is part of what makes him so dangerous. Dismiss individuals like me as being full of doom and gloom, but I've been more right when I expressed fear that Trump could win the primaries in 16, and the general election. I worried about him trying to stay in office and thought him capable of a coup and was dismissed by some on here. Let's stop pretending he isn't that bad and we can handle it.

Also cute of Bolton to speak out when he has little influence.

              • Whether or not Trump can be a dictator isn't really the issue. The issue is that he can inflict real and lasting damage on the country, its people, and its institutions. He poses real danger, but it has little to do with the quantity of computing power contained in his noggin.

The last time I trolled was at Flaming Gorge. I was at 50 feet and my wife's only job was to keep us in water deeper than that. She failed at her job. Cable snapped. Lost the ball and rig. Next day I replaced the ball and while preparing to attach it to the rig, I drop it and it rolled off the boat, into the water. I suck at trolling.

Wait. Back up. Downriggers? Lake trout or kokanee?

I was going after kokanee, but I didn't really know what I was doing.

This. He does worry we because as President he would be able to try, and the trying weakens us. He seems to like to break things. This time around he would not have any of the people who tried to act as guardrails the last time around. He could do a lot of damage, some of it long term, like fully weaponizing the Justice Department, devaluing or even pulling out of NATO, giving Ukraine to Russia, attacking Social Security and other entitlement programs on which people depend, undermining environmental programs, etc. He acts on whims, so what might that mean for Taiwan, or our allies in Japan and Korea if he suddenly decides that he wants to be more friendly with China or to cut a deal with Kim in North Korea?

Yes, he's incompetent, dumb and llazy, as will be the people that would come with him under Trump 2.0. That alone will wreak havoc and sow real incompetence in a government upon which we all depend for security and some very basic support. Have we all forgotten his leadership during COVID? I would be very worried if he is elected again.

For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.

Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

Read up project 2025 from the Heritage Foundation because that is the template and it will be devastating.

When Trump says dumb or scary shit, he often tries to follow through on it.
