Right? I thought dog whistles were supposed to be somewhat imperceptible to the human ear...

1a. He's too old and senile.
1b. Kamala Harris is not an exciting running mate or presidential replacement
1c. That report that reinforces his senility.
        2. Israel/Gaza
        3. The economy - it's humming along but people still remember or feel the pain of the inflation, and mortgage rates are no longer the bargain people remember.
        4. He's uninspiring to his base, and the Maga base is even more energized than ever. Patriots from Jan 6 are being persecuted in the courts. More importantly, Trump is being persecuted in the courts.

I'm sure I've overlooked a few reasons, but those are probably the main ones. Still, the election is forever away, and anything can still happen.
Biden is losing some progressive abandonment because he is seen as too pro Israel.

        • I heard today that Biden has the lowest approval rate in history of an incumbent president at this stage. So that is nice.

          • I saw some crazy exit poll from Super Tuesday-- something like 73% of GOP voters are unwilling to commit to voting for Trump. I'm not sure if that was just Nikki Haley voters or voters in general, but that is a big deal. The Biden campaign is now openly courting Haley voters and donors that Trump shit on like 2 days ago.

The way it seems to me is Biden is facing very steep odds in AZ, NV, NC and Georgia. If the polls are accurate those 4 appear close to insurmountable at this point in time. But Trump needs one more out of Michigan, Wisconsin and Pennsylvania. When the dust settles I am skeptical Trump will one of those.

I'm choosing to mostly ignore your fatuity here and instead overwhelm you with so much data that you'll maybe, just maybe, realize that you have reams to read on this subject before you can contribute meaningfully to any conversation on this topic.

You know how the odds would be even steeper? If crazies weren't in complete control of the GOP. The last marginally moderate GOP senatorial candidate in AZ was Martha McSally, and even she lost to Krysten Sinema by a razor sharp margin-- probably because of the stink of Trump's endorsement. Kari Lake, who I guess forgot that this is where John McCain is from, is going to get her ass kicked and AZ will remain blue up and down the ticket in the state-wide races.

Please, please, please let Kari Lake lose one more time.

                      All politics are local.

                      Except Presidential elections.

Polls taken months before an election have not been good predictors of what had actually happened at the ballot box in any election since what, 2014? I am also frustrated the dems can't figure it out that Biden is the only reason a nutjob dangerous Trump is even in the game. But a lot can and still will happen before November. And sampling for political polls does suck. Im not talking out of my butt on that one. It is closely aligned with what I do professionally , but whatever.

                        • I'm curious to see where polling goes a few days after the SOTU address tonight. Obviously all eyes will be on how he physically ooks and sounds. But with sub 40% approval levels, he just isn't very liked as a president in general. I'm not so sure that Biden would be doing much better even if he was younger. His policies don't seem to be popular either. I'm sure he'll announce some goodies, but will they be counterproductive to his cause like the student loan bailouts?

Why limit it to one more time?

That will be interesting. I am also curious as to how many people will actually watch directly vs only catching the comments/spin about it afterwards from their favorite spinmeisters. Who knows.

If you want to believe polls, Synema dropping out pushes Lake down from 4 points behind the dem candidate to 10 points behind him.
