The notion that the way to destroy trump is for the small percentage of moderates in the republican party to stop supporting moderates is laughably naive and ignorant. You think if moderates who are clearly in the minority in the republican party stopped supporting Cox that some obscure democratic candidate is going to win the governor's race? I’d be on board with your last thought if Trump hadn’t already lost multiple elections, yet here we are and MAGA is stronger now than in 2016.

You seem to think that down ballot support of GOP players doesn’t affect support at the top of the ticket. The wins down ballot allow him to claim he was cheated and gives the party the permission structure to keep supporting him.

The Cox’s in dark red states and districts aren’t going to lose if 3% of traditional GOP voters vote democrat in a couple elections, but it would take Trump down, deliver both chambers of the house to the Dems and maybe break the fever.

Or I guess we keep going down this road where you guys claim you don’t support Trump but vote for people and support the platform that gives him the green light to enter into our lives on a very intimate basis.

What MAGA is well on its way of doing is gutting the national Republican Party. I don't need to be an active participant in propping up progressives who I also think have bad policies. The neutering of the GOP will happen with or with my actions. The GOP base is smitten by grifters and unstable trolls. Boomers are the mark and they are bewitched. But all these grifters and trolls are given life and power by Trump. Trump is a generational charismatic and will hold the party hostage until he becomes incapacitated. And when he goes the populist moment goes with him. Low skilled grifters can't run the movement on their own. The thing is populism took hold of the party quickly. It will leave the party quickly as well. It may take another decade until Trump dies though. Until then, this country will be run by the DNC.

Also, Trumpism/MAGA has led to significant losses for republicans in the senate and the house, especially in the 2022 elections. Did that make a dent in support for Trump among his base? Not at all. You guys keep acting like these are rational people making rational decisions. They aren't.

The map is favorable to the GOP in the senate this cycle. The Dems need to win all their tight races plus the toss up seats to make it a 50-50 senate.

Worse, it will result in a movement to name hundreds of streets, schools, and sewage treatment plants after him. I'm ok only with the last category.
