Trump agreed to debate on ABC on 9/10. Then he came up with an unsanctioned pretend debate on 9/4 and tried to back out of the 9/10 debate.

Then he brought all his years of experience closing business deals to bear, exercising the savvy that has made him famous, and generated multiple marriages, all to bend her will to his. And with all the powers of persuasion he possesses, he was able to get her to agree to ABC on 9/10.

Can't back out of something you never agreed to.

That agreement was with grandpa Joe… The Dems, using “democracy”, switched candidates. I am sure Trump would love to debate Joe again.

Of course, Harris isn’t the smartest nut to fall out of the coconut tree… even Grandpa Joe is smarter.

I saw that she is giving the same exact speech over and over. There is a side by side video going around. I wonder if her training can get her to do any other tricks.

It's called a stump speech. Standard stuff. If Trump's brain hadn't melted, he might be able to pull one off like he did in 2016. At least, until his functional illiteracy caught up and he substituted a similar sounding word for one that he didn't know.

The advantage of a stump speech is that it stays on message. Trump's brain won't stay on message, though, so you get things like him advocating for a supplement for mifiprestone (the abortion pill).

I don't even think it's as complicated as that. Senior NCO's incur a service obligation of an additional three years when they're promoted. When they voluntarily retire before meeting that obligation, they retire at the lower pay grade.

Of course, I'm not a personnel guy, so take what I say with a grain assault. Cope, didn't you do time in the S1?

My 2 cents: There is a big difference between MSG (E-8) and SM (E-9) and even a greater step from SM to CSM. As the regulations state, when you retire you are entitled to refer to yourself at your retired rank with a (ret) after it. Because of that I am only allowed to refer to myself as a former Captain because I did not retire. So in reference to his service, he should be referring to himself as MSG(ret). However, on his official Bio on MN Gov. page: "After 24 years in the Army National Guard, Command Sergeant Major Walz retired from the 1-125th Field Artillery Battalion in 2005." Now because that refers to him in a past tense, it technically is accurate, but it is deceptive because it leaves out any further reference to how he is retired and leaves the reader to presume that is his retired rank. For the few people who's vote that may affect, I would not think it worth the many other vets who consider it deceptive.

I would not go so far as to say that it is stolen valor, because that is specifically defined in US Code as dealing with medals. However it is slimy and loses my respect. Additionally, if you have never drawn combat pay, do NOT claim to have been combat deployed. I was in a combat zone and because of the great disparity between what I dealt with and what guys like Bo dealt with, I am reluctant to call myself a combat vet, even though I am entitled.

My final concern with Walz's focus on his military service has to do with medals. For someone to reach CSM and have the highest medal on his chest be a double ARCOM gives one pause. Like it or not, medals are rewards for completing a post in most circumstances. For someone to have that rank without at least one MSM does not reflect well upon his service. (I bet Bo has at least one MSM) That being said, MN NG may be different from the rest of the Army.

Tim Walz: re-enlists, gets deployed. Returns, gets selected to be CSM of 1st Battalion, 125th Field Artillery. Gets provisionally promoted to CSM. Takes on duties of CSM. Told to complete a 2-year correspondence course to remain CSM. Retires before completion, administratively reduced in rank months after retiring to a master sergeant for benefits purposes (the last rank he fully qualified for).

MN National Guard: Walz "culminated his career serving as the command sergeant major for the battalion."

GOP and Insane right wing - he wasn't a CSM.
Also GOP and IRW - he was the senior non-com and abandoned his troops!

Fun fact, Ted. Tim Walz was once a member of the Texas National Guard.

WTH… he disgraced the TX NG?!? Now I really upset with the Dems VP choice.

Ha. I look like a banana republic general with everything they've given me over 31 years, especially when you lump in all the state awards. To me, it's a way to tell the story of my career. Each one of them does have meaning to me.
