This is such a stupid conversation.Give 'em Hell, Cougars!!!
For all this His anger is not turned away, but His hand is stretched out still.
Not long ago an obituary appeared in the Salt Lake Tribune that said the recently departed had "died doing what he enjoyed most—watching BYU lose."

Ted, you never answered, do you think Trump won in 2020?Originally posted by Uncle Ted View Post

So not to say Trump can't still win, but the way the race suddenly changed was truly worst case scenario for him. Had Biden announced a year ago then there would have been a long primary process where Harris or maybe someone else eventually wins but in not nearly as strong of a position, and the party would have to reunite with varying levels of enthusiasm. Trump would be the one holding the advantages of an incumbent in many ways. The dems right now are as enthusiastic and united as they've been since Obama.

Remember how enthusiastic the GOP was last week? News cycles move fast. I get that everyone has euphoria right now but there are still real world problems the administration she was a part of was dealing with. Despite what traditional media and DNC talking heads are pushing, she will still need to convince people she is different than Biden. We won't know until late September polling where this race truly is.Originally posted by BlueK View PostSo not to say Trump can't still win, but the way the race suddenly changed was truly worst case scenario for him. It's not just a news cycle thing. The change on the dem side in enthusiasm isn't going to change because the malaise was based on Biden's age related deficiencies and how it was the only issue being talked about. Yes there can still be many twists and turns but the excitement of the base leading to money, registration efforts, etc., is unlikely to regress to where it was.Originally posted by USUC View Post

Sure, but she is definitely different from Biden. Since she is so much younger, any dementia she suffers from is unlikely to be closely age-related.Originally posted by USUC View Post

Alright. I'm no expert. It just seems like you all aren't factoring in she is part of the incumbent party in power whose policies aren't very popular.Originally posted by Pelado View Post

Trump is not very popular either and can't grow his base of support. Are there people who were leaning Biden but because of the switch to Harris will now go to Trump? No. Let's see what the polls start to show. I think there will be a significant shift. Or maybe I'm wrong. We'll see.Originally posted by USUC View Post

On top of that, she is the worst candidate pick (as per recent NYTimes) and was the worst Dem candidate as per the democratic voters...Originally posted by USUC View Post

OK, Yang was the worst in this snapshot but he was, at least, going the right direction.
