People are complicated. Families are really complicated. Biden obviously loves his family but is still icing his granddaughter. Trump appears to be a great father and grandfather, but says weird shit about his daughter. I have a hard time with people making uninformed comments about parental success to make a political point. And they’re always going to be uninformed.

Having now watched the full segment elsewhere, I think its a bit more nuanced than what you are suggesting. I am under no illusion that Musk would be a good dad. People in his position rarely are. But his "son" has refused to continue his relationship with him. It may be justified. What I think Musk is trying to convey is that because his son transitioned, the child's identity as a son was now dead. While his child is still alive, his son is dead. I'm not going to make a judgment on their relationship because I don't know but it's clear Musk is a weirdo. But he is just saying what most trans people themselves would say. They don't identify with the gender they were (wrongly) assigned to and now that they have transitioned, their old identity (which was a false identity) is dead.Originally posted by Maximus View Post

Wilson, the daughter of Musk and his first wife, author Justine Musk, took particular issue with the billionaire’s claim in the Peterson interview that he had been “tricked” into approving gender-affirming medical care for the youth.
“He was not by any means tricked,” Wilson said, describing Musk’s decision to provide parental approval to care that came to include puberty blockers and hormone replacement therapy. She said her father read over medical documents about the care multiple times.
“They save lives. Let’s not get that twisted,” she said in the NBC interview. “They definitely allowed me to thrive.”
