  • Trump is different this time!

    https://thehill.com/homenews/campaig...onal-campaign/

“People think they know what to expect of Donald Trump in 2024. They are wrong,” said Michael Caputo, a longtime friend and adviser to the former president. “They recognize the caustic social media messages, they recognize his tactic of giving a nickname to every competitor. But they ain’t seen nothing yet.”

      LOL. Fool me once...

This is stoopid... The Drumpfsters are not going to vote for him if he is different this time.

No, you've got it backwards. They are the ones that understand that nothing is different.
Ain't it like most people, I'm no different. We love to talk on things we don't know about.

That party is broken right now. Marjorie Taylor- Green, Matt Gaetz, and George Santos are right at home in it. Tim Scott hasn't shown any memorable moments that correlate to him being a moderate.

If you have a problem with that then you are a racist.
You haven't seemed to have many objections with racists and have forwarded and reposted gobs of their tweets and messages unironically.

I won't argue with the first sentence. There is no truer fact. But there is no single GOP for one to "fit right at home in." You have the batshit crazy faction you just mentioned. You have the people who were MAGA but have pulled back (most supporting DeSantis now). You have the old guard like Scott and McConnell who used MAGA when they needed to score victories, but who are not populists. You have the Sununus and Hogan's who are moderate but entirely outside the national GOP. You have Romney.

It's a broke party but it's not all MTG all the time as many Dems hope it is.

For the record, I don't hope MTG or Trump or any of the other awful people maintain any clout or office within the GOP. Their presence threatens national security, and Scott has exhibited zero courage around these types.

I'll be more careful in how I phrase things. I wasn't trying to imply that you specifically want them. And to be more precise, I don't think most of the base wants that either. Dem party
political operatives are another story. They had a lot of success helping MAGA candidates get through primaries. It was a winning strategy and I doubt they stop in 2024.

                    • So DeSantis continues his vendetta against Disney. So he took over Disney's 'government' that runs their public services, roads, fire department, etc. I'm sure Florida will do a bang-up job

Some of you would vote for this Nazi?

Well, he now has the right to tax them so all the tax loving liberals should be happy about this. Disney got out o paying taxes for decades due to this deal.

We cannot expect to experience the blessing of faith by standing inactive on the sidelines any more than we can experience the benefits of health by sitting on a sofa watching sporting events on television and giving advice to the athletes. And yet for some, “spectator discipleship” is a preferred if not primary way of worshipping." -Pres. Uchtdorf

I realize these are probably GOP talking points you are handing me here, but why does Disney now need to pay extra taxes so that Florida can run the administrative functions they were already doing themselves? Or do you think Florida needs to take this over for Disney's own good and charge them for their obviously superior public services? Seeing as how that's obviously not the case and that this was just a move by DeSantis to make Disney pay for publicly opposing his controversial social policies, I'm guessing Disney is going to have to get used to shitty roads, poor public services, bureaucratic red tape in administering their own properties now, right? Remind me-- DeSantis is pro-free market and anti-socialism right? This is so confusing.

I'm guessing this won't play so well in Peoria.
