2.05 miles running this morning. I'm off to an easy start after a few months off again, but hopefully I can keep the pain out of my shins this time.

3.03 run at lunch....HOT!
I like this spreadsheet...this whole "Red" vs. "Blue" thing makes me think of the BYU vs. Utah rivalry. It's nice that I am "Blue"."Newton's First Law of Motion: ...things at rest tend to stay at rest. Things in motion, tend to stay in motion...."
Hmm... Good motivation for me to remain active I guess.

I got stuck in one of those last night. I climbed up a huge hill - 1000ft - on my mountain bike and then was descending the trail only to see that town below had disappeared into clouds and rain. Didn't feel to comforted on my aluminum bike with lightning activity getting closer. Ended up dropping into huge rain drops and some hail and ate it when my pedal got caught on a big chunk of granite. All in all it was a really fun ride, though I was a huge mess of sand and blood when I got home. 10.5 miles on the mtn bike is harder than 3 and some odd running.Originally posted by scall View PostMorning thunderstorm killed my ride today. For some reason I didn't feel like getting on a metal framed bike with lightning and thunder all over the place.

I enjoy walking/jogging in the rain, as long as there is no hail with it!Originally posted by scall View PostMorning thunderstorm killed my ride today. For some reason I didn't feel like getting on a metal framed bike with lightning and thunder all over the place.
I may be small, but I'm slow.
A veteran - whether active duty, retired, or national guard or reserve is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to, "The United States of America ", for an amount of "up to and including my life - it's an honor."

Not complaining about what you have done. It is really my own fault for going straight up the mountain instead of keeping it easy. I also choose the wrong week to not be around to vote in the polls last week.Originally posted by beelzebabette View PostSorry, guys. I'll take responsibility for the poor setup and leaving it to a poll.
I really appreciate all the work you have put in. As repayment I will refill your water bottle (at least once) while in Tahoe. How bout that? I think the spreadsheet is great.

Picture doesn't do the area justice, but I rode the same chute today. Here's the top of it. There really is a trail there, and it's usually open and very visible. Just not visible this year. It's also steeper than it looks.Originally posted by mtnbiker View PostOn the way back down the mountain, I decided to ride a seldom-used steep, narrow, twisty chute. Because of the abnormally wet spring, the weeds along the trail were totally overgrown and drooping over the trail. Couldn't even see the trail, in fact; just had to guess where it was, couldn't see any loose rocks (of which there are many). Weeds tugging at me as I went through. Toward the bottom of the chute, not being able to see the trail, I ran off the side into the berm, which stopped me abruptly. Slow endo, and one foot wouldn't clip out, so the bike came over the top with me. Weeds stuck in the bike computer, weeds stuck in the chainrings, weeds stuck in the cassette, weeds stuck in the derailleur. I should have taken the time to snap a picture, but I was too tired and overheated to care.
