I apologize if my question has already been answered but I didn't have the patience to catch up on all 100+ posts in the thread....

When we enter mileage, are we converting everything to road bike miles first? Or runner miles? Or just entering the straight mileage and telling you what kind of miles they were?

Scratch that....just noticed you have it set up in the spreadsheet.

You enter the mileage straight up on the appropriate sheet and it automatically gets converted and posted to the summary on the main sheet. Aren't spreadsheets cool?

        • ERCougar and Salsa coming in with over a full marathon today. 26.7.
At least the Big Ten went after a big-time addition in Nebraska; the Pac-10 wanted a game so badly, it added Utah

Lol, you like that? Still, I see you bested me by 2 miles or so. I should have used my Nike+ number instead of my Garmin.

90 degrees (isn't that about what you run in?), 2.28 miles, 11:53 average, and average heart rate of 175. Oh, and I really need to find a route to the grocery store that has some shade. My face hasn't been that red after a run since junior high cross country.
It was only about 85 this morning. If I would have plugged in my Garmin last night I could have been out earlier and been running in a sweltering 78, which is as low as it gets this days.

I did refill my fuel belt three full times along the way. But I still have no explanation for the heart rate. I guess I just have a heart as big as Texas (awwww!).

I don't know how some of you (I'm talking to you Arch) desert dwellers can exercise in these temps. We only get them a couple of weeks at a time and then get back to just regular old hot weather.

I got a lunchtime mtb ride in yesterday, and I was definitely getting overheated. Vision got hazy a couple of times. So to ride 10+ miles of that, and only get credit for 3.5, I wasn't real happy about the rotten ratio.

On the way back down the mountain, I decided to ride a seldom-used steep, narrow, twisty chute. Because of the abnormally wet spring, the weeds along the trail were totally overgrown and drooping over the trail. Couldn't even see the trail, in fact; just had to guess where it was, couldn't see any loose rocks (of which there are many). Weeds tugging at me as I went through. Toward the bottom of the chute, not being able to see the trail, I ran off the side into the berm, which stopped me abruptly. Slow endo, and one foot wouldn't clip out, so the bike came over the top with me. Weeds stuck in the bike computer, weeds stuck in the chainrings, weeds stuck in the cassette, weeds stuck in the derailleur. I should have taken the time to snap a picture, but I was too tired and overheated to care.

Wow. That sounds like the very definition of taking one for the team.

Is it still to late to join a team? Not sure how I missed this thread all week. I did a 9.5 mile run this morning.

Trail riding should really be 2:1. That sounds rough.

That sounds horrible. No one would blame you if you want to quit this silly challenge.

Since both guys are or were on my teams, let me say...I don't care.
