Or even 100. I shot a 105 today, although it felt like a 99. What's that word you use IPU?Ain't it like most people, I'm no different. We love to talk on things we don't know about.

I shot an 82 today, and that was with a triple on the first hole (right after I had tattled on the three (three!) groups who skipped the starter and were all gathered on the first tee planning on playing together as an elevensome). They were not very happy that they actually had to wait to go after us, the foursome who had a tee time before all three of their tee times. 5 holes later they had the audacity to ask if they could play through, despite the fact that we were waiting on the tee box for the group in front of us on pretty much every hole.
I had one birdie on the day and another chance at Eagle (but three-putted for par
). I also had a near hole-in-three, (after shanking a tee shot on a par 3 into the lake, re-teeing and hitting my third to within an inch of the cup).
All in all a pretty good day on the course, especially since it was my first time out in almost 3 months.Prepare to put mustard on those words, for you will soon be consuming them, along with this slice of humble pie that comes direct from the oven of shame set at gas mark “egg on your face”! -- Moss

I have been working on making some pretty significant swing changes for the past couple months. I often feel like I'm close for a few holes or even most of a round then I revert back to old habits. Today I was working with the pro on the range and something just clicked mentally and physically, I changed the and angle of my shoulders and I was hitting nice high draws or at the worst well struck cuts. I had this lightening in the bottle phenomena before so I wanted to test it out on the course. I only had time for 6 or 7 holes but I hit 3 of the best shots ever.- Drive 310 with a nice high draw to left edge of fairway
- 3 wood 270 or 280 (slightly downhill) to the green on a long par 5
- Hybrid 210 drawn around a tree and over a trap to a small green to within 10 feet of the flag.
I have hit shots farther and closer to the pin before. The difference today was it felt like Ernie Els my swing was so under control and my balance was perfect on finish. It felt so good to just look at where I want the ball to go only have one swing thought in my mind (keep shoulders on plane to right of target) and let the club do the rest of the work. I would be crass and inconsiderate to say it felt as good as my honeymoon so I won't (plus I was able to do this 3 times within 15 minutes, unlike 18 year ago....)Last edited by Art Vandelay; 06-09-2010, 03:22 PM.

Neither my wife nor myself were very experienced on our honeymoon. A lot of lateral hazards.Originally posted by Art Vandelay View PostI would be crass and inconsiderate to say it felt as good as my honeymoon so I won't (plus I was able to do this 3 times within 15 minutes....)"The mind is not a boomerang. I have completely lost my putting touch. Don't know where it went. Perhaps it's because I hardly play now, but still I think I putted better the first time I touched a club than I do now. Had a 4-putt and four 3-putts, and I'm pulling everything. Just doesn't feel right through the ball, can't get comfortable.
Looks like I need to spend some good hours on the practice green and tweak the grip a little bit to keep my hands quiet.

I shot a 102 today with four 8s. 48 on the front. I really feel like I am starting to turn a corner. I should have been in the mid-90s.
The handicap computer when I entered my score flashed a window that said "This score is lower than usual, confirm score before posting" I wasn't sure if that was positive or insulting.Get confident, stupid

Played a 6 hour 18 holes today.
My driver was on fire with 2 drives 300+ and many in the 260-280 range. Most where I was aiming. Only a few missed fairways. My follow up shots were the death of me. I left way too many approach shots off the green and my chips to the hole were left way too short. My putting stroke was excellent, but couldn't drop anything. I probably left 10 puts 2-4" short/long, but were dead on the right line. Too many 2 putt bogeys. Just one of those days when nothing went my way. I did manage to get 1 birdie on the 16th hole. Landed my drive 20 yards from the front of the green. I shot 50 front and 47 back. Tick tied his best round to date and beat me handily."I can get a good look at a T-bone by sticking my head up a bull's a$$, but I'd rather take a butcher's word for it". - Tommy Callahan III

I played 15 holes at Spanish Oaks today before the heavens opened up and a monsoon rolled in.
I played bogey golf on the front and was only a few over on the back before we quit because of the rain, thunder and lightening.
One of the guys I played with (who posts here) shot a 38 on the front and was only 2 over on the back before we quit, he had a legit shot to shoot in the 70s.*Banned*

I golfed Bountiful Ridge today (yesterday). For some reason, Bountiful got missed by the storm. Aside from a drizzling rain on the first few holes, the rest of the round was pretty clear.
Jacob joined me for the first 9, and then I played the back nine alone (twice!). I shot a 41 on the front (four straight pars followed by 5 straight bogeys) and a 41 on the back (1 double, 3 bogyes, and 5 pars) for a total of 82. When I finished my round, the back was still wide open, so I played it again. Worse, unfortunately, as I put up a 43. I did have a birdie on 18, though.
I was really spraying the driver today, making for a few chip-outs and a couple shots from the adjacent fairways. I was killing my long irons, though. I hit a few 5s really well, and I actually perfectly shaped a couple draws with my 6 (which is saying something, since my swing is naturally very draw-prohibitive).Prepare to put mustard on those words, for you will soon be consuming them, along with this slice of humble pie that comes direct from the oven of shame set at gas mark “egg on your face”! -- Moss

We were up there probably about the same time. We started just after 8:00 am, and had about the same conditions as you describe. 2 of our 4-some crapped out because of the weather and not being able to take a cart. It was actually a really pleasant day for golf up there. We usually walk, so cool days are much easier on the energy level.Originally posted by Donuthole View PostI golfed Bountiful Ridge today (yesterday). My dad also shot an 82, the best round of his life. I was nowhere near that, and need to do some serious work at the range with my irons.

I really lucked out. All four courses closer to my in-laws house (Riverside, Valley View, Sun Hills, Davis) didn't have any tee times, which is why I ended up in Bountiful. Those courses ended up being rained-out for most of the day. My tee time was for 7:30, so we may have passed each other on the course.Originally posted by chrisrenrut View PostWe were up there probably about the same time. I really like the back 9 at Bountiful. I just think that's a fun 9. The front is good as well, but I like hole 11 (off the big bluff waaaay at the top) and hole 18. Also, hole 17 with the wind in your face makes for a ridiculously long par 4. I crushed a drive, and was still hitting 6 iron into the green. (My first time through the back 9 yesterday, I tried getting there with a 7, and came up woefully short. Plus, the pin was waaay in the back, and that green is pretty long front to back.)Prepare to put mustard on those words, for you will soon be consuming them, along with this slice of humble pie that comes direct from the oven of shame set at gas mark “egg on your face”! -- Moss
