I haven't experimented with Bridgestone or many of the newer golf balls recently. Primarily because I have 6 dozen Pro V1 with my company logo on them, I need to use up first.

If I could hit a halfway decent drive more than 1/3 of the time, I might actually hit some greens in regulation and post a better score. I am reverting back to my old outside in swing, which is giving me either pulled shots to the left or weak 230 yd fades to the right. One of these days I will start hitting a high draw again, I just don't know whether it will be in this life or the next. I'm still struggling with the 155-130 distance...I'm not even missing close to the green. Thankfully my chipping and putting around the green have been pretty solid for this early in the season. Today I rolled in a 35 footer for birdie and barely missed two other birdies from 20+ feet.

I am going home tonight and learn how to use that scoring and record keeping feature on my SkyCaddie. That is cool.

Mine is actually an iPhone app- Golfshot GPS. I like the SkyCaddie thing better since it tracks yardage of actual drives, but since I always have my phone with me anyways the phone app is more convenient for me.

Just went to the driving range... I'm a scratch golfer on the range. I hit 2 or 3 of my normal weak fades then I started bombing (250+ with range balls) nice draws. Ugh, nothing like being a practice All-American and then choking when it is game time. I'm playing with the gangsome tomorrow, so hopefully I can hit a few of those or I'm going to come home $20+ lighter.

OK, you had to do something consciously to change from 220 to booming 250. What was it. My scratch golfing buddy tells me I have got to get a better shoulder turn.

Two things I do much better on the range than on the course is one is a full shoulder rotation which makes it much easier to do the 2nd a slightly inside-out swing. I really struggle with it on the course when I'm hitting anything above a 5 iron; except with one of my hybrids, which I'm always able to draw for some strange reason. I just don't trust my swing enough on the course, so I revert to old bad habits.

I've found a interesting ebay guy. He sells Callaway Heads - direct from Hong Kong. I've long been a build my own clubs kind of guy, and this looks interesting. I think I'll bid on a head, then stick a Aldila Voodoo svs6 into it, with a new Winn grip - and let it rip. The whole combo retails for $399, and it looks like I can bring it home for about $150. - I hope he has 3 wood heads.

If anyone is interested, I can try and double the order with the guy and assemble a club for you just for fun... no profit on my end.

Today was demo day. I hit some pings,titelist, taylor made and the Mizuno's. I play the Mizuno now. I have decided to get the Mizuno 1000 irons with the graffaloy pro launch regualr shafts.

Playing my old Mizuno's today I fired a 85, however without the 2 double bogeys and 2 triple bogeys, it could have been a good round. Blue tees.

We get off of work at 330 on Fridays. Can get 18 in no problem. Only 26.00 with a cart. Easy peasy.

I left a few shots out there yesterday, but overall I am happy I broke 100.

Five 3 putts and I was +9 on the par 5's

My driving distance was good, not so strait.

I shot an 87 today at Talons Cove. The front 9 I was really fighting it and shot a 48. I figured it out on the back 9 and ended up shooting a 39 on the back. On hole 18 I holed out for eagle from about 140.

Congrats on the fairway hole out. That's pretty rare.

Sound like we had similar rounds. I shot a 44/39=83 The front just killed me. On the second hole I was hitting a 5 wood into a par 5, and topped the ball and it flew straight up, and I could have caught it in a shirt pocket. It was one of those rounds where you're playing decent but can't score.

I'm still in limbo with no driver, and borrowed a square generic headed driver with a Grafalloy ProLaunch Red R shaft. The face was 2* closed, and I'm a 1* open guy. Trying to hit that thing straight (not left) was like driving a car w/out power steering. It was all I could do to adjust my swing, and keep the ball in play. I virtually made every putt inside 10', and was complemented on my putting by my playing partners. I've been working on a new split hand putting stroke with a forward press. It's amazing what a positive forward roll it puts on the ball.

I played in the Men's Club, and was paired with guy that was drunk at 9am, and peed 8 times on the day. He downed a six pack during 18 holes. He came back from a trip to a tree, and I noticed that he had peed all over his shoes. The best part was he never said a word all day unless spoken too, meaning that he was not a talkative drunk. One time after a bad shot I got into the cart and put my forefingers and thumbs together and said "Serenity Now." He said what's that? You a Buddhist? I said no, It's a coping mechanism, and he said, why don't you just cuss? He may have a point.

I figured I left about 8 shots out there. That's what I love about golf, you always can point out stupid mistakes, and figure that the next time you'll have the round of your life.
