    • So who is the BH Roberts of today?

I liked the quote. Of course it puts us in that uncomfortable gray (or is it grey? I never know) area, but if you like the quote, you're probably already firmly planted in the gray/grey anyway.

              Don’t know. Is there one?

Outside of the quorums: good question.

No I didn’t. I implied that you lack nuance. BH Roberts is a hero in many ways. I revere the guy which is why I hate his words being misrepresented.

I just said I liked the quote and some may find it interesting.

I think it relates very well to the discussion we had. ymmv.

I agree. Great advice. Thanks BH!

                      • The BH Roberts references here reminded me of a presentation I gave in a religion class at BYU regarding the League of Nations. My googling rabbit hole led me to the quote below from Dialogue. I didn't realize that BH Roberts was the first member of the Occupy Wall Street movement.

Let us hope that as an emergency policy it will meet with such success as will place the people in a position to construct a new economic policy, for a new age, to take the place of the capitalistic system and its spirit, wherein shall exist more equality and more justice than in the age now passing; a policy wherein there will be a more consistent division of the profits of the conjoint products of capital and labor than heretofore; where the wealth produced by that conjoint effort shall not forever flow into the possession of the "one" while the "ninety and nine" have but empty hands!"

                            From Google:
Grey and gray are both accepted in the English language. They refer to a color of a neutral tone between black and white, and can also be used metaphorically to convey gloom and dullness. However, gray is the more popular spelling in the US, while grey reigns supreme in the UK.

Why would you call that uncomfortable? I think it describes an honest, sustainable approach to faith. The two extremes described in the last paragraph of the BHR quote = what you would call black and white, and neither approach is healthy or sustainable.
