Fortunately, a Slovenian has taken on the odious task of doing that weird thing.

I also don't like the group recitation of the themes. I am the Stake Athletic Director (I know what you are thinking, and yes, I manage to do that along with being 1st counselor in the Stake Sunday School Presidency. Wow). The guy before me, who is much more spiritual than I am, and a much better man in general, had the YW recite the YW theme before every game. I put a stop to that.

This year, I am thinking of moving from 2 prayers per game to only 1. We will see if I can pull it off.
2 prayers per game? I can see one before, but when do you do the other?

        After the first fight, maybe?

We only do 1 per rehearsal.

Yeah, but how many fistfights do you go through during the chorus?

            • I saw most of that Face to Face program.
It felt like watching an Infomercial. I kept waiting for them to show a B/W picture of a frustrated boy scout tangled in tent poles before cutting to smiling kids enjoying the new, better program because they called the number on the screen.

If the guy behind me doesn't quit singing flat there may be one on Thursday.

Ha. That would have been awesome.

One before the game and one after. And then the next teams come on and say another one.

Don't look at me, I didn't start it!!

                        • Gotta agree with Piney. That's some prayer overkill.

The second is a general repentance prayer for all the bad thoughts, words and deeds left on and off the court.

I don't disagree. Don't I get any credit for eliminating the YW theme? One step at a time!

                              • Hopefully this one time special evening session is all we need to bump Priesthood session in the fall and not during the final four in the spring anymore.
