Things are going well in my District. We've had three discussions this week, and one of them was Gospel centered. I've been fielding a lot of questions from the missionaries in my district lately and was wondering if you could help me sift the wheat from the chaff. Seems a couple of Elders got lost phoning their mothers last Monday and ended up at a website called www.mormonrumors.com Just to appease them can I have you disspell a couple of the rumors they're telling me.
1. All the website addresses have been changed. They told me that we're being hacked by the Russians, and that the 2 hour church was a Russian change, and they we're going to go back to 3 hours after this April conference.
2. That a return to polygamy will happen in the next 20 years, but in the meantime we're supposed prepare ourselves for the coming change by dating "other women" who we're not married to. Does this apply to missionaries as well?
3. Tithing checks cannot be made out to the "Mormon Church" anymore, and as a short cut, tithing checks should be made out to "The Corporation of the President" or even easier, make the checks out to Russell Nelson. Is this true?
4. That 2019 is the year of contact between the LDS Church and the Pleidians and that they're here not to teach us, but to bring all things to our remembrance.
How can I tell the Elders that this is fake news. We're not changing the url's on church web sites... that's crazy talk. They insist it's true. Please help me to bring my district back under my control!
Hope all is well with you and yours - and tell Sister Bednar we love the sourdough start and have incorporated the start into our tracting efforts where we offer to come in - bake bread - and clean up their house - in exchange for the first three discussions. So far we've cleaned six houses but the investigators weren't there when we came back for the disco's later that week. I'm sure we'll do better next week.
