Is it ethical to compel children to join and attend any religious group that indoctrinates them from a young age and compels them to be baptized as a child or even at age 8, given the lifelong consequences of it all?
Why not wait until they are adults to ask if they want to be baptized.
No shit. I am pulling my kid from school. We never even asked if she was interested.
For the record, I drink tea and that's it. I even wear my garments. I kid you not. I will provide photos as proof to anyone interested, since I know my integrity is often called into question.
Please. I think we'd all like to see a photo or two of you in your garments. That would be very helpful to the discussion so thank you.
We've agreed in the past as a community that sharing content from private discussions is against board rules of decorum. I wouldn't want to support a person that encourages one to engage in acts that might lead to breaking community standards. Even if it meant seeing your large integrity.
To be fair, I'm sure 20,000 of MarkGraces posts are in the "What I'm listening to now" thread.
Gracie, I love you as much as anyone but this really made me laugh.

You still don't even know for sure what he said, or what the context was, but you're calling him a dufus.
I'm making a video of his talk to be posted here.
The man made an entire slide about Christ removing the slums from people so that they could remove themselves from the slums. That in and of itself is justification for calling him a dufus. It is a false and unchristian statement.

You should try it. Makes you so much more relaxed about these things.
Awesomeness now has a name. Let me introduce myself.
I didn't initially read this thread, because Sooner whining about a priesthood leader is so 2009.....and 2010, 2011, etc. But I'm man enough to admit when I'm wrong; YOhio is pretty dang funny. He is owning this thread, like a pre-$6,000 smoker, TripletDaddy. I just hope this doesn't turn out to be another Brady Anderson hitting 50 dingers, PPD type spike from YO.
I would contend that major religions would cease to exist if children were not raised to believe in them, even though some children still grow up and leave their religion.
I agree. And this is a great argument to continue the indoctrination.

Whatever happened to the "I like Mormonism the way I like chocolate ice cream" version of Sooner? That guy was pretty chill.
