I knew the year rule on excommunication but I guess I sort of assumed a US-court type of appeals process."Either evolution or intelligent design can account for the athlete, but neither can account for the sports fan." - Robert Brault

Thank you for clearing up a misconception I had. I thought she was your typical pain in the ass lawyer looking for something to advocate or argue about.Originally posted by Donuthole View PostShe is a doctor in real life, fyi.
I will at least look at her from now on in a different light even if I still don't agree with her.

Maybe y'all should come back so you can say the excommunication of Kate Kelly was a factor for your leaving.Originally posted by Pheidippides View Postheck, my wife and I are already feeling vindicated. we left over women's issues before it was cool. we are apostate hipsters."If there is one thing I am, it's always right." -Ted Nugent.

Just curious and of course if it is none of my business, it is none of my business.Originally posted by Blueintheface View PostTrue trailblazers don't need vindication.
Do you attend a church you are comfortable with or just handling that aspect on your own? If I changed I think I would become Catholic. I don't think there are attendance requirements to be considered active.

The only thing new about this is the amount of media and social networking available now.Originally posted by Applejack View PostWait, it's trailblazing to leave the church over women's issues in 2014? Don't tell Sonya Johnson, she'll be pissed.
I remember back in the 80's a friend telling me about a women in his ward who was very active in a group demanding the Priesthood.

We only have half a million employees in my company, and I would never get an audience with our CEO. I've been on conference calls with VP's 2-3 clicks down from her, but she's got a pretty tight circle. She's got teams of lawyers and VP's to handle and delegate the dirty work. That's the way large organizations work. I wouldn't expect the Church to act any differently.Originally posted by Maximus View Postso a ceo should meet with anyone in a 15 million person company anytime they want something changed?Last edited by Non Sequitur; 06-25-2014, 10:03 AM."The mind is not a boomerang. I know that what I perceive or believe can be wrong. When I think I could be out to lunch, I check with the feelings of others. I asked 3 other's in the office if we decided to push one of our complaints and demand to see the CEO, do they think we would eventually get to talk to him. Their answers were all basically the same. Surely you jest.Originally posted by Non Sequitur View PostWe only have half a million employees in my company, and I would never get an audience with our CEO. This isn't a knock on my company. It is extremely well run and ranked extremely high in their industry.

I talk to my CEO two or three times a week. Sure, we only have about 25k employees, but he would give anyone in the company an audience. I've been in companies like yours and others like my current. I don't think there is a hard and fast rule. I also work with some very large companies. I've spoken with several different company CEO's while supporting their business. Lots of CEO's like to play by their own rules and try to cultivate a culture of employee engagement.Last edited by CJF; 06-25-2014, 10:19 AM.A man who views the world the same at fifty as he did at twenty has wasted thirty years of his life. - Mohammad Ali
