Interesting story... thanks for posting.

I was in Greece last summer and talked with a few of the locals about refugees and immigrants in general. The feeling was that the immigrants would hurt local tourism and their rather fragile economy. Tourism is about 20% of their GDP and that drives a lot of their other industries. Therefore, they seemed rather protective of that, which may explain why the government is shutting down this lady's camp.

I have a friend who works for Kirton and McConkie and one of his jobs is returning tithing money in fraud cases like this. They do it all the time.

I am not surprised that they would do that. It is absolutely the right thing to do as the church has substantially less need for the money than the victims. It is also excellent PR.

I'm always a little amazed with people like this, they can be doing something that is just terrible yet still feel very compelled to follow other teachings of the church.
