RC isn't the only one to mix up Kirtland and Kirkland. The church's own manual's appear to have that same mistake in some places:

I have the same problem with guys named Kurt or Kirk. I hope others have the same problem and they get called the wrong name all the time.Originally posted by BigFatMeanie View PostRC isn't the only one to mix up Kirtland and Kirkland. Idiots, they should call it a modest living allowance.Originally posted by DrumNFeather View PostI believe the CoC needed the money to fund pensions, etc. for some of its older, retired clergy, so yes, looks like a win-win here.As I lead this army, make room for mistakes and depression

Hey HFN: You still owe me $10."They're good. They've always been good" - David Shaw.
Well, because he thought it was good sport. Because some men aren't looking for anything logical, like money. They can't be bought, bullied, reasoned, or negotiated with. Some men just want to watch the world burn.

I assume it's the amount, right?Originally posted by SteelBlue View PostI join you in that disappointment, whether it was actually a group of "generous donors" or that was just a euphemism for "tithe payers".
The printer's manuscript is the closest thing the church has to a 'divine' relic. It's got to be pretty faith-promoting, and I'm sure it will be a hit at the church museum. So I can totally see why the church would spend a lot to get it.
