Maybe he just left a bunch of IOUs in the trust fund...

But seriously, $13mm is a lot to spend but it can go quickly, especially if business sucks or you like to travel. I do hope his temple recommend gets taken away.

"Discipleship is not a spectator sport. We cannot expect to experience the blessing of faith by standing inactive on the sidelines any more than we can experience the benefits of health by sitting on a sofa watching sporting events on television and giving advice to the athletes. And yet for some, “spectator discipleship” is a preferred if not primary way of worshipping." -Pres. Uchtdorf

She has filed for divorce, if I understand correctly. I've had a few cases against him, but this development is surprising.

Someone on CB last week claimed to be pretty close to the situation. They said that the couple was in the middle of going through a divorce and the stress of that cause this lawyer to make some poor decisions. Sure. All that stuff must have been deleted because I can't find it anymore.

I can think of many poor decisions but spending $13 Million of other people's money?! Who did Rob think he was? Trump or Clinton?

                  LOL.

When asked what he would say to his former clients, he took a long pause and responded in a shaken voice: "There'll be a time when I can fall to my knees and ask them to please forgive me. I've been sidetracked. How I ended up here, I'll never know."

He'll be their punching bag. What a noble gesture.

Graham said he called a reporter to make it clear that he didn’t abandon his clients and worked to ensure that they got new representation when he saw that his firm was nearly broke earlier this month.

“I’m squaring my shoulders up and if they need a punching bag, I understand,” he said. “I need to get it together so that I can see the accountability through. I just can’t make everything whole.”

He did the right thing and made sure his clients were able to find new representation once he ran out of their money. I also liked the comment about moving the chairs around the Titanic. But in this case, there were apparently three Titanics and he couldn't get any of them to float. Probably needed one more.

According to Wikipedia, one of his clients was Sharon Stone.

Except that, no, he didn't. If he had worked with his clients to get new counsel in each case, the State Bar (incompetent as they are) would not have had to file a petition under SCR 118.

Exactly. I wouldn't be surprised if he took the route some of those HOA attorneys took. He is life is over. He has no family; his wife is divorcing him; he'll never be an attorney or any other type of professional and and orange jump suits will be his new fancy attire.

Tragic? Yes. What the hell happened?

I believe they have left the state. He may have children but given what has happened, they may not have contact with him. Imagine sitting in jail while your children grow up. He's going to be in jail for ten to twenty years. He's fifty-two, a BYU law grad IIRC, and won't ever see a normal day again. His life is soooo over. For an upper middle class professional, his life is forever the shits and probably not worth living. It's going to get a whole lot worse.

But at least he got to go to the Ft. Collins Temple dedication.
