I think that's why they dropped the hammer.

dont think so bro. if you think the church can continue to remain an important cultural force in the lives of millenials/gen zers by making martyrs of sympathetic figures that raise valid concerns, i don't think you understand the trajectory.

I do think so bro. One would only care about the trajectory if one thinks a church exists to please man instead of God.

            This one's not very sympathetic.

Nah, I got your point. Did you even attempt to understand mine? The things I posted were enough to get anyone exed. She's been flaunting her association with those sites and people for quite a while. Eventually, it was going to catch up to her.

I agree with her on most of her views about sex. However, she could have preached her message without associating with the antis. Had she done that she would probably still be a member.

                  you did not understand.

by the way, the concept of "associating with the antis" as a grounds for excommunication is absolutely absurd.

Did she get exed for associating with antis? I highly doubt that. Now, peddling anti material, that can result in apostasy.

Does the Church really exist to please God? Is God that needy?

The issue is not about whether or not the Church exists to please God - it is about whether or not one thinks the Church exists to please God.

                            • Michael Quinn passed away on Wednesday. I don't really know a lot about him, other than that he was a historian that got exed and is gay. I've never read any of his work. I was surprised to learn that he continued to be a believer until the end of his life. I'll have to check out some of his writing.

I explained what I meant by that in an earlier post. She's a board member of Open Stories Foundation and participates in the Mormon Stories podcasts and retreats not to mention her association with John Dehlin and his wife. All of the above are considered anti and their primary purpose is to lead the disaffected out of the church (and turn a profit).
