  • Coffee

I drank coffee for the first time yesterday.

    Bitter. Nasty. Totally unimpressed.

If any of you devout Mormon folks ever consider it in the future, think again.

    You're doing it wrong.

Coffee and a quiet hospital at 3 am are the only two pleasures of night shifts.

Did you put any cream or sugar in it?

I love it and wish I could partake of it. Sounds like you had a nasty cup of coffee.

More importantly, was it good coffee? There is such a thing as really bad, bitter coffee, and that's typically the kind found in a pot cooking/burning in the nurse/physician lounge.

A med student brought it to me yesterday morning. She bought it at Einstein Brothers bagels. She knew I was Mormon and wanted to tempt me. I was trying to overcome stereotypes.

                  How timely.

I was tempted, and like an angel, you posted.

My first was an overnight shift in med school. It wasn't as tasty as I thought it would be based on how much I'd always loved the smell. I don't really care for it. Haven't had any in about a year. Rockstars are usually my go-to when I need caffeine.

I wouldn't be surprised if you were the only person on this board who hadn't tried coffee before yesterday. I would agree with those who have said you had a bad cup. Coffee can be very tasty. Give it another try, Sooner.
