Oh, and my nephew just opened his call yesterday - going to one in Mexico that starts with "X" that must have already existed."I think it was King Benjamin who said 'you sorry ass shitbags who have no skills that the market values also have an obligation to have the attitude that if one day you do in fact win the PowerBall Lottery that you will then impart of your substance to those without.'"

wow, Coban gets its own mission. That takes the most scenic parts away from the City North mission. Hopefully they had to take Baja Verapaz along with it.Prepare to put mustard on those words, for you will soon be consuming them, along with this slice of humble pie that comes direct from the oven of shame set at gas mark “egg on your face”! -- Moss
There's three rules that I live by: never get less than twelve hours sleep; never play cards with a guy who's got the same first name as a city; and never go near a lady's got a tattoo of a dagger on her body. Now you stick to that, everything else is cream cheese. --Coach Finstock

Canada Vanvouver looks to still be intact from when I was there in the early 90's. A transfer from Vancouver to the furthest city, Prince Rupert was also over 900 miles.Originally posted by RC Vikings View PostCanada Winnipeg is still standing but they did give Thunder Bay, Ont to the Minneapolis mission a few years ago. This did eliminate the possibility of a 975 mile transfer from Prince Albert, SK to Thunder Bay.

Did I miss a merger somewhere?Originally posted by Blueintheface View PostNo, Spain-Malaga was merged into the Madrid mission. Less active members now than 20 years ago.
I was under the impression there were now 3 missions in Spain: Malaga, Madrid and one up north.
I knew that Canary Islands had been consolidated along with one of the northern missions.

Ribeirão Prêto is still there, but in an ever shrinking form. I am assuming that the creation of new missions in Piracicaba and Juiz de Fora will again shrink Ribeirão's borders.
The state of São Paulo will have 8 missions soon. Ribeirão Prêto used to be a pretty large mission, but has shrunk considerably.

It was a long time ago; Wooster is where I spent most of my childhood. Most of the time, the area didn't have missionaries as it was a small branch with no building. The few times we did get missionaries assigned they were invited often to our home and were like rock stars in my mind. I collected their AOF cards (asked them to sign them) and remembered many of their names well into my teenage years after my family moved from Ohio.Originally posted by byu71 View PostNo, but I was the DL in Canton. Alliance and Massilon were in the District.
I recognized the name immediately so don't know if it was part of the District with no Elders in the city or it was just the next District and in the Zone.
That was a long time ago.
During my BYU years, I was visiting a ward during FT meeting and a 30-something father bore his testimony and mentioned serving in Ohio and I recognized him. Even better, he remembered me when I talked to him after the meeting.
Anyway, I thought it would be cool if I had your signed AOF card somewhere in a shoebox in my attic.“Not the victory but the action. Not the goal but the game. In the deed the glory.”
