And the boundaries (the Thames) is more what you'd call "guidelines" than actual rules.

I had an area that bordered on the Thames (Acton/Chiswick) and at one intersection you could be in the London South, London or Bristol missions depending on which corner you stood on. It was always tempting to go touring.

The name changed from the Hong Kong Mission to the China-Hong Kong mission in 1997 when the British relinquished control, but other than that, it is still there.

Nothing will happen to it until China opens (this summer?). It is nowhere large enough or successful enough to split, but it is too physically isolated to merge with another mission. The closest mission is 400 miles of open water away, in Taiwan.

My mission, the Pennsylvania Harrisburg mission was dissolved and swallowed up by the Pittsburgh and Philadelphia missions a few years ago.

My brother's mission in England was also dissolved. Lots of changes have happened, even in recent years.

My mission was split in half with the formation of the Colorado Springs Mission.

The Canada Toronto mission split into the East and West Missions shortly before I arrived there in the summer of 1993. I was in the East mission, which was basically the city of Toronto and a few small, outlying areas.

As I understand it, they have since been consolidated and are once again just the Canada Toronto Mission.

So, no. It doesn't exist anymore.

Sweden Stockholm has been around a long time and is still there. Back in the 70's, they added a second Sweden Mission (Goteborg), but that didn't last long.

Jamaica Kingston has gotten bigger since I left. It used to just be Jamaica, the Cayman Islands, and Cuba (MP presided over Gitmo servicemen's branch, obviously no missionaries). The mission now has a bunch of smaller islands.

Well, I didn't serve a mission but my FIL served as the president over the Bordeaux France mission which is no longer.

Danimal's mission exists and his niece is headed there soon.
What's to explain? It's a bunch of people, most of whom you've never met, who are just as likely to be homicidal maniacs as they are to be normal everyday people, with whom you share the minutiae of your everyday life. It's totally normal, and everyone would understand.

My mission exists in name, but only about 1/2 of the current mission was in my mission back in the day. We carved off 1/5 to a new mission then land swapped with another.

Is there a site that shows the actual mission boundaries?

There's an app called LDS Missions where you're supposed to be able to see them on a map, but that map function hasn't worked for me. Maybe it'll work for you.

That's my mission! And yeah, it's gone.
At least the Big Ten went after a big-time addition in Nebraska; the Pac-10 wanted a game so badly, it added Utah

Our mission would likely always exist. There's no way they'll get rid of a mission that produces the likes of Mitt Romney and Neil L. Andersen

We cannot expect to experience the blessing of faith by standing inactive on the sidelines any more than we can experience the benefits of health by sitting on a sofa watching sporting events on television and giving advice to the athletes. if you are signed in, you can turn different boundaries on and off: wards, stakes, missions, areas
