We went to visit my parents in Payson to celebrate Easter. We are Mormons. All of the meetings in their ward were centered on Christ.

Maybe it's a Payson thing. I can't speak for SS or EQ but our Sacrament meeting and Primary were also Christ centered.

Sexual, not financial. He didn't do it, and the young victim (foster child) admitted after he was convicted that she made it up to get back at the foster parents. It's under appeal but in the mean time 2 sex offenders have been killed in that prison since January. The new lawyers say its the worst malpractice they've ever come across. His former attorney is now a Judge and doesn't want any light to shine on the case. The church court found him innocent and he remains a member in full. He's viewing his incarceration as a missionary experience.

      I've said too much...

This sounds like a horrific situation.

My wife and I had to talk in SM, and it kind of made this Easter special, since we were both studying and pondering the Savior, resurrection, and atonement for the weeks leading up to Easter.
I totally get what you are saying. My family and I went to a cross - denomination sunrise service. Totally get why some groups say Mormons aren't Christian when I experienced that (my Easter services as a Mormon varied depending on location). Actually, I would recommend it as a precursor to church for all my Mormon friends too, on Easter anyway.

We can't even get to 11:00 a.m. church on time.

No. Not a ton of kids, although there were some. Very short service - 40 minutes - which was awesome. It had a variety of religious traditions so it had a variety of music, styles, ritual, etc. Very interesting but also required us to be out the door by 5:30 am. I took a nap.

                  • The boys are gone for the summer, the wife had to work yesterday and I really didn't want to go to church alone so I went skiing on a beautiful spring day. I learned that if you play two days of a weekend instead of one you have twice the enjoyment.

Upon rejecting the Beatles, Dick Rowe told Brian Epstein of the January 1, 1962 audition for Decca, which signed Brian Poole and the Tremeloes instead.

The true essence of one's self is the choices made when all alone.

Sorry if I came across as being a jerk again... especially when I've skied at Targhee on a Sunday too.
