I learned in church today

I also saw a very nervous young wife faint once. That was fun.

This was a YM in our OC ward, was getting ready to go away to college and gave a talk in Sac. apparently he was nervous and locking his knees. About halfway through his talk, he simply passed out and fell over with a thud. Unfortunately, this wasn't in rural Idaho so nobody responded and everyone sat there and let him die. Oh, if only we had lived in a rural area where people actually care about each other!

I went to St. George this weekend with my 3 boys. We got talking about church, religion, doctrine vs tradition and odd occurances.

My one son told me about a buddy of his who while blessing the sacrament messed up and blurted out the F word. That had to be uncomfortable.

Cool... I like the idea that Adam and Eve rode in an UFO from Kolob to Earth and Adam was the literal, biological father of Jesus.

I wanted to bring some of that stuff up, but there was an investigator there. Another guy gave a more diplomatic retort that was more appropriate under the circumstances.

One of our speakers today was baptized in 1972. The missionary that baptized he and his wife is here visiting today 41 years later. That's pretty cool.

We also have pri program. Also for the first time in a year the priest that was scheduled to teach actually showed up with a prepared lesson. It was a small break through.

We had Stake Conference today, and I like to play a game where, after the intermediate hymn, I am the last person to sit down. This can be very tricky, as there are often clueless children, mothers leaning over several seats to berate clueless children, old people who have a hard time getting back down, and the like. Through a good bit of perseverance and pretending to look around for something, I was successful today, even though it meant staying standing until the 1st counselor in the Stake Presidency was already speaking.

"Challenge extended!" Sunday, Sept. 8, is going to be an epic sacrament meeting in the _______ ward of the Charlotte_______ Stake of Zion -- CUFfers will not want to miss this one!

I've received multiple emails, texts, PMs and even a single telegram inquiring about this exciting contest of Last Man Standing in our ward. Unfortunately, to date, it has still not yet happened! The first two weeks, the contest did not happen due to football travels, then we've had the primary program, General Conference, testimony meetings, the ward choir (technically, CA may have garnered it that day), the intermediate hymn was canceled once due to talks running long and last week there was a special musical number. Hopefully, there will soon be a battle to report on!

Pri program as well. I had to stay home with a sick toddler and missed my daughter not budging from her seat and refusing to sing and my oldest boy is the kid in junior primary that sings way too loud but doesn't realize what he is doing.

We had testimony meeting because there's a "special" stake conference next week. I learned that when someone says that she'll only tell one more quick story, that person probably doesn't mean that the upcoming story will be quick or that it will be the last one.

Primary program today. Learned that a room full of little children singing "I Am a Child of God" can still teach me things I thought that I already knew.
