It wasn't so long ago that DHO was saying that no gay child should ever be so thoughtless as to bring their partner into their parents' home. I suspect that there are quite a few active LDS that wouldn't even consider supporting their gay child or attending the ceremony if they decided to get married. I suspect that that number is diminishing, but still.

I don't know about Communist Party meetings, but I have a friend that confirms they closely resemble AA meetings.

We've all been there. First time at bat, FTSOY pamphlets fogging the brain. Do I go left, do I go right.

            It could happen to anyone.

I actually meant that a couple of my friends who are gay were also at my sealing ceremony. Can't speak to whatever it is that you were referencing.

I was watching 30 for 30s "I hate Christian Laetner" and watched an entire arena of LSU fans do the tomahawk chop at him while chanting "HO - MO - Sexual" and then "faggot - faggot - faggot." This was in the 90s. It was really shocking to see. We forget how quickly public sentiment reversed on gays in the last decade. I suppose SU would call for the abolishment of LSU based on their behavior 20 years ago.

My brother and his partner were married 3 years ago. They made a last minute decision on a whim to fly to DC and get married. My wife and I were the only family members on both sides of the family that were there and afterwards I had conversations with my siblings about our decision to attend and them concluding that they weren't sure they would have made the same choice.

                    • I learned in church today

I learned that if we want the Sisters to participate more in ward council that we should make a conscious effort to thank them for their comments right after they make them.

They let the Sisters smoke in your ward council?

                            • For a 5th Sunday lesson, they decided that they should combine EQ/HP/RS/YW/YM for a lesson on how to do indexing. One sister in our ward shared how she had been doing indexing for a "bunch of negro families."

Sounds like a good idea. The youth today don't get enough exposure to just how truly kooky some people in the church can be outside of F&T meetings.
