    • Two new stakes are being created in north Houston. One is the Conroe stake, which I think will be created next week or possibly the week after that. Another will be created at the end of next month. My ward will likely be impacted by the creation of the second stake. I'm hoping my stake president ends up being in the new stake

There are six wards that cover the ward boundaries of my first ward in Spring in 2008.

The growth has really been incredible, but it's mostly driven by transplants from California and the Jello Belt. There's very little growth from converts, or at least sustainable growth. There's tons of jobs in Texas and people are moving in droves, or at least they have been over the past decade. I've only been part of 2 ward splits, but we have people in our ward that have lived in the same house for 20 years and have been in 6 different wards and 3 different stakes. Our stake has the smallest geographical ward in Texas. It's incredibly small (I think 1.1 square miles) for a ward outside of Utah.

You guys are about to shrink. Now that my BIL is retired Navy and now flying for FedEx, it sounds like my sister and her family are headed back to Utah. Well, where ever Herriman is.

                    • Consecration was discussed in Sunday School and someone said when his dad was in stake presidency that the living allowance GA,S Don.t use they have to give back to the church. I am sure they have some savings, but if you have $100 in your checking at tend of month give it back to church. How do they count pocket cash though, give twenty back to church.

Another one I heard before was that profits from books all go to mission fund. Don,t know if either of these stories are true . They only have time to write books July, Monday's. And maybe once every 5 or 6 weekends as time at office and work at home takes a great deal of there time.

I didn't really have a problem with the topic or the content but the presenter was horrible. He's one of those guys that travels all over giving anti-porn seminars in ward/stakes across the country. He spoke so fast that I could hardly understand him - like he was trying to squeeze 4 hours of content into 2 and thought, "If I just talk really really fast I can cut the time in half!". Everyone once in a while he would slow down for emphasis.

He said he had given the presentation many times and I believe him - it felt like he had given it about 10,000 times with how fast he blazed. He needs to find a new sideline/hobby because he sucks at presenting the topic.
We had another all-hands meeting today during the 3rd hour on porn - as a follow up to the previous one we had on Easter. They even brought in all the primary teachers. I think they set the primary kids up with a video on the primary room or something like that.

This time the presentation was done by the Bishopric and was better than last time, but I'm quickly growing tired of the topic.

                          I think you mean a no-hands meeting.

                          • A guy read the Top Ten Ways Spouses Cheat list during his Sacrament Talk today. Oh yeah, he's the High Priest Group Leader.

I just love hearing, "Watching pornography by yourself" from the pulpit with my kids in the room.

Just glad to know that as long as you aren't alone, it isn't cheating!

So - when my wife isn't interested, does the dog count as far as not really being alone?
